So yesterday I made a thread about Gaga maybe starting LG7 already, and it made me think and realize how excited I actually am about her next album (if you’re here to talk about how she wants a break and doesn’t want to do music anymore and the Chromatica era is or isn’t over you can leave). Like since Joanne dropped we were pretty much guaranteed a return to dance music. Now with Chromatica she’s pretty much ... ‘back’, and I genuinely don’t know what to expect from her this time around. I think it’ll be very experimental.

Regardless of how far away LG7 is, because of course the Gucci film and the Chromatica Ball Tour, what do you think Gaga’s next musical step will be? I personally have no idea, I’d be fine with more EDM since it’s my favorite genre, but then again she’ll always come back to dance music, so I want her to experiment with something else this time.

After the success of Million Reasons and the ballads from ASIB I can see her doing a ballads album.
Otherwise I think a pop-rock album is very possible

I wasn't sure how to vote.  I'm guessing she'd try something combined -- like smooth R&B and ballads?  Idk.
Really would love a rock/metal/punk record!  She looked hella fine and performed well with Metallica.
Plus, from AHS, she likes "Tear You Apart" from She Wants Revenge...would be great hear her take on that genre.

Obviously here for more jazz and/or pop/dance/EDM!

A hardcore rock/metal Gaga is the only answer:pawsup:

Rock would be amazing, or a style to rock-funk/pop like Prince's Let's Go Crazy.

R&B needs to happen. The musical climate is  going to shift that way in my opinion. Pop mixed with Rap and R&B is always fun and I think Gaga has the voice for it. Do What U Want was a look into what Gaga could do. Imagine this fully mature Gaga making an R&B song and collabing with people like HER, Ella Mai, SZA, Beyoncé, Ariana again, and janelle monae. She can get really fun and really deep with R&B. I’d love it. I don’t want another edm album after Chromatica. Too soon

She needs to do pop/rock, Roxette, P!nk style... her catchy songwriting + live instruments + her vocals would totally slay.

Too many people here with moral superiority complex.

If an EPs coming for Chromatica, I reckon it'll be experimental dance, hopefully with a bit of BNs lg6 work thrown in.

Beyond that, the only 'obvious' direction I can see her going in, one I'd quite like, is a refinement of her two biggest sounds, the synth-pop and balladry/rock pop. Yeah random I know but ever since Bloodpop tweeted 'A Star Is Born This Way' that's what I've wanted. I normally hate when artists try and recapture a fan favourite sound, and it's not that I want a straight up BTW sequal, but take some of its best elements and ramp them up but keep it in a nice 12 song package with tight visuals and theming. Something that has some industrial/experimental pop with quirky instrumentals but that feature live instruments too, along with some hard hitting power ballads. She needs her Total Eclipse Of The Heart :flutter:

EDIT: Maybe what I'm trying to say is you could say Born This Way was a synth-pop album with a lot of rock pop influences, maybe flip it and have a rock pop album that is still synthy and plays around with dance music ideas but still has it's shallow bridge moments
