What makes you think so? I mean you can pretty much do the same on other social media? 

Also it will be unfair for the users who uses FB "appropriately". It should be about getting in touch with the people you care about. Most people from third world countries uses FB to ease their anxiety of leaving their homeland to work overseas. While it can be toxic (the public side) if you use it privately, like only your friends/family members - that you are in good terms with , it can actually be a good place. 

 

And even if you eradicate FB, another one will replace it or the same trend will happen to others. The main problem here is not the technology but with the users. It's like a knife, you can either use it to cook or to stab people. 

 

The best thing FB can do to help with capturing these pdf is to invest largely on regulating their contents or to be more stringent on the users that can register on their site.
