Gaga’s vocal change from 2012 - 2013

I feel like we don’t really acknowledge this. :air: She went from sounding super young and “innocent” to very mature, and even the way she started to sing had more depth to it, and the growls hunny. Like comparing the MANiCURE demo from like 2012 to the final version of MANiCURE. That’s like a crazy change.

It's sort of like she started recording in her concert performance vocal voice, to me at least. I love everything about her voice, even speaking.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

I agree, she kinda started to break the lines between how she sounds in a studio (a bit more... conservative?) and how she sounds in performances.

Oh yeah, TC and even LMR sound much more like her older voice.

GGD vets are still scarred to this day about users constantly complaining about her using her new “Dope voice” in 2013/14. It’s called maturation folks :vegas:

To be honest most of Chromatica has that old Gaga vocal tone to it. Alice reminds me of Monster vocally, Plastic Doll is just straight up Born This Way vocals, same with Babylon, Love Me Right, Stupid Love, Free Woman, Fun Tonight and 911.

Its when she started singing without tongue/throat tension i think. There was more air flow, notably in things like the Aura chorus & sexxx dreams.

I mean, if you listen to The Fame and skip to ARTPOP, it's like a completely different person is singing :laughga:

I think Chromatica is the best blend, she can do so much with her voice and choose when to
