In regards to the world IDK - but from seeing comments here from people around the world, I do see a lot of hate. American right also - every soccer mom trump supporter Karen - always had something negative to say under every tweet about Meghan. gag 22,449
Jesus CHRIST y’all really hate her here For what?? Social climbing and being “annoying”? gabeoz 7,915
All these comments just prove her point I never cared enough about her but the intense amount of social media hate and media scrutiny she got in the UK and abroad (yes, including in the US) for doing literally nothing is astonishing to me. dont even try to pretend that she didn’t, she was crucified by people for simply existing. She’s literally so harmless on the grand scale of things, who has the time to care There's a lot more valid reasons than that. I've been over them several times before. Between her and Harry, there's been lies, contradictions, over-spending, disrespect of loving family, suing people left and right, turning up to charity events then leaving after 10 minutes, etc. It amazes me that not everyone must be seeing the same facts that are out there because her and Harry's behaviour has been awful. How it's not clear by now that she clearly never wanted to permanently remain in the royal family and just wanted to escape back to America with new A-list status is beyond me. She may be harmless on the grand scale of things but at the end of the day, she's a celebrity like any other, we're free to criticise and there's so much stuff going on with these two, you could write a book (and her biographers even did, which they clearly played a part in, even though they deny it). 2 minutes ago, gabeoz said: All these comments just prove her point I never cared enough about her but the intense amount of social media hate and media scrutiny she got in the UK and abroad (yes, including in the yes) for doing literally nothing is astonishing to me. dont even try to pretend that she didn’t, she was crucified by people for simply existing. Have you actually looked into the reasons why people don't like her? Because they're many and they're very valid. As I said above, I sometimes think some people shut off when negative stuff comes out about her. Though why, I don't know. I gave her a chance at first but after the initial engagement announcement, stuff about her came out more and more and it was clear from the get-go that she was a fame-hungry social climber and that's the least of it. Notice how she says "I was told" as if to suggest that this isn't her making the assertion, it's other people. As if everyone sees her as a victim, it's a very smart way of making a victim narrative. Everyone knows that Trump's been the most trolled of the last 4 years. If she wanted to say most trolled in Britain or most trolled woman, fine, but man or woman? Again, a further twist of victim narrative. Look, I'm not going to begrudge anyone to right to feel depressed and all the money in the world can't make you happy but they've never seemed to understand that as rich royalty, they have an abundance of options to make things better if they're going through a hard time. They don't have a 9-5 job that they're legally expected to show up to everyday and can take time out if they don't feel up to things, they've got nannies who can look after their child, they have servants to do their chores, they can afford the best therapists and medical treatment. Unlike most of us, they don't just have to put up with their problems and muddle on through with stuff that's causing them additional stress. So them moaning about being trolled just don't fly. If Meghan didn't want criticism, she shouldn't have married a prince and become a public figure (and still be pursuing fame now she's left royalty behind), end of. If you want to be a celebrity, you have to take the bad with the good. Most people criticised her for very valid things, especially considering the amount of lies and contradictions she made, the way she ghosted everyone who'd helped her get to where she was, how she treated her father who loved her and the amount of taxpayer's money she was spending on outfits (she was the biggest spender out of all European royalty, more than princesses and queens, despite only being a duchess married to the 6th in line). And now she's under fire for clearly plotting to get out of the family for months, maybe even from the very beginning, yet wanted the taxpayer-funded wedding and a child born into royalty first and got her mansion in America through Prince Charles's money (which comes from taxpayers). It's beyond me how she has any fans at all. The moment that turned a lot of people off was when she did that African tour and in among helping impoverished people, felt the need to say to the reporter that she was glad someone had asked her if she was ok because not many people had asked her that. It's completely tone deaf to do charity outreach and then make it all about you. For most of us, our own problems would wash away in these surroundings, but not Meghan Markle. And she didn't even say "no one" had asked her, just "not many" had. So, some people had asked. Personally, one person asking if I'm ok is enough for me but some people need to be noticed all the time by everyone, don't they? She had very rare instances of racism that were swiftly dealt with. But other than that, there was nothing slanderous. Everything that was pulled up about her from her past and present was true. And plenty of other Commonwealth countries are against her too for the same reasons we are - spending too much taxpayer's money, cashing in on their titles, lecturing to us about climate change while being the least eco conscious and so on. But yeah, if you're not from a Commonwealth country, or the USA, you probably won't really know or care about them. For what it's worth, a lot of Americans are dismissive of them because they're royal. Americans have never had a royal family, so they idea of the taxpayers paying for someone else's lifestyle is considered ludicrous to them. It's part of American culture to work hard if you want an extravagant life. People who get it through virtue of being born or marrying into it tend not to gain much respect from them.
