Lady Rah Rah 2,003
I used to dislike her because of the stories coming out about her relationship with her Dad, the leaked letter, the environment speech then going onto a private jet. But then I realised how little she affects my life, Harry was always going to marry someone (because it seems to me like the Royal family expect everyone to get married.) I actually feel really sorry for Harry, he didn't ask to be born into the Royal family. A lot of people say "Well, he can't complain, he has so much money etc etc" yes but...does money = happiness? Of course not. But at the same time, it does seem like they (Harry and Megan collectively) are okay accepting tax payers money to fund their lifestyle even after breaking away. I've heard rumours they will pay it back and if they do then that should end the backlash about the finance side of things. Chromatica will live on forever. Bat 6,162
I really really don’t get how they were constantly saying couple months ago that the wanted to be out of the public eye and that that was the reason to leave the UK and live in Canada and now constantly are making statements to press, making deals with Netflix and making podcasts and decided to go live in LA. It just doesn’t make any sense to me.

It just doesn’t make any sense to me. They have no other income and whatever they do (houseshopping to having a job) will get outsized attention. It's not their fault, they're just living their life. Who is else is gonna be friends with them? You think they can just live anywhere? They still need security. He's still Queen Elizabeth"s grandchild. They'll still be hounded (aren't they trying to move again cuz there's non-stop helicopters?). What would them disappearing even look like? Even possible? They want to be normal, they're trying to be, but they are who they are and that keeps them locked in a certain strata. So no they can't go for a full-time position at the local grocery but voiceover for a Disney doc is on the table. They're trying to pay back the UK back so let them trt. The only other example of an attempt to navigate this weird af lifestyle of being an ex-royal is the Duke of Windsor. That did not end well. Givem an friggin break. Plus just like Gaga, they know these people through their work and philanthropy, so there's no point in bringing that up like its slander. And that house cost less then Gaga's so gimme a break. No surprise in a country full of beer drinking, bald racist men. I despise Piers Morgan for how he constantly attacks her, a full grown man bullying on a woman. Disappointed but not surprised. Pennywise 36,079
The way people are extremely pressed about her is funny I mean, I'm pressed too because she's living my dream, being married to Harry, but, like, calm down So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted. Harry is a full grown man and can make decisions on his own and she got the blame for literally everything (stepping down from royal duties) if ever you question if the UK is racist or not, see how they reacted to her vs how they reacted to the Prince Andrew scandal. Toxic patriarchy found their "bad woman responsible for everything and anything" and proceeded with criticism over every single thing.

I scoffed more than a little bit when I saw this. Notice how she says "I was told" as if to suggest that this isn't her making the assertion, it's other people. As if everyone sees her as a victim, it's a very smart way of making a victim narrative. Everyone knows that Trump's been the most trolled of the last 4 years. If she wanted to say most trolled in Britain or most trolled woman, fine, but man or woman? Again, a further twist of victim narrative. Look, I'm not going to begrudge anyone to right to feel depressed and all the money in the world can't make you happy but they've never seemed to understand that as rich royalty, they have an abundance of options to make things better if they're going through a hard time. They don't have a 9-5 job that they're legally expected to show up to everyday and can take time out if they don't feel up to things, they've got nannies who can look after their child, they have servants to do their chores, they can afford the best therapists and medical treatment. Unlike most of us, they don't just have to put up with their problems and muddle on through with stuff that's causing them additional stress. So them moaning about being trolled just don't fly. If Meghan didn't want criticism, she shouldn't have married a prince and become a public figure (and still be pursuing fame now she's left royalty behind), end of. If you want to be a celebrity, you have to take the bad with the good. Most people criticised her for very valid things, especially considering the amount of lies and contradictions she made, the way she ghosted everyone who'd helped her get to where she was, how she treated her father who loved her and the amount of taxpayer's money she was spending on outfits (she was the biggest spender out of all European royalty, more than princesses and queens, despite only being a duchess married to the 6th in line). And now she's under fire for clearly plotting to get out of the family for months, maybe even from the very beginning, yet wanted the taxpayer-funded wedding and a child born into royalty first and got her mansion in America through Prince Charles's money (which comes from taxpayers). It's beyond me how she has any fans at all. The moment that turned a lot of people off was when she did that African tour and in among helping impoverished people, felt the need to say to the reporter that she was glad someone had asked her if she was ok because not many people had asked her that. It's completely tone deaf to do charity outreach and then make it all about you. For most of us, our own problems would wash away in these surroundings, but not Meghan Markle. And she didn't even say "no one" had asked her, just "not many" had. So, some people had asked. Personally, one person asking if I'm ok is enough for me but some people need to be noticed all the time by everyone, don't they? She had very rare instances of racism that were swiftly dealt with. But other than that, there was nothing slanderous. Everything that was pulled up about her from her past and present was true. And plenty of other Commonwealth countries are against her too for the same reasons we are - spending too much taxpayer's money, cashing in on their titles, lecturing to us about climate change while being the least eco conscious and so on. But yeah, if you're not from a Commonwealth country, or the USA, you probably won't really know or care about them. For what it's worth, a lot of Americans are dismissive of them because they're royal. Americans have never had a royal family, so they idea of the taxpayers paying for someone else's lifestyle is considered ludicrous to them. It's part of American culture to work hard if you want an extravagant life. People who get it through virtue of being born or marrying into it tend not to gain much respect from them. Omg, preeeaccch . This is nothing but facts. Meghan is an entitled brat who spread her legs for social status. See you got a warning, idk wtf for. Moderators here want to cancel free speech. Totally with you. There are plenty of behind the scenes roles that can have much more impact than hosting charity galas and producing Netflix documentaries, Harry and Meghan just want to keep the perks of fame
