In this case on the topic of Meghan Markle Im not sure where the racism is in what @StrawberryBlond said. Many people in the UK actually feel like Meghan had the same criticism in the super aggressive worldwide famous British Tabloids than Kate Middleton in her first years as royals. There has been debates about this, whether or not it was racism while I only have one example of racism in a tabloid that described Meghan as "ghetto", Im not sure where the others were. For the majority it was the criticism of Meghan and Harry being hypocritical about climate change while going on jets several times in a month...and thats an example amongst many others

In regards to the world IDK - but from seeing comments here from people around the world, I do see a lot of hate.

Idk about other countries but in mine (Greece) nobody cares about royal families in 2020. The only icon we'll always respect is Princess Diana due to her cultural impact.

I'm not going to get into this particular topic regarding Meghan with you as I like you and respect you.

However there is a difference with how you communicate and how @StrawberryBlond communicates.

Strawberry runs to every thread where there is an opportunity to bash a POC and has made some very questionable obviously racist remarks during her time here and continues to get away with it.

i am sorry, but why people would be racist towards Meghan? because she is american? are british people that bad?

There are op-eds and articles about these things everywhere. The criticism was not equal with Kate. It seemed like a mandate that no matter what Meghan does, even though others have gotten a pass or even praise for it,just sh*t on her and add a sprinkle of rascism for flavor. Just like the first page of this thread. Like, why?

I will never understand why she received as much as she did, what was the problem? Harry is a full grown man and can make decisions on his own and she got the blame for literally everything (stepping down from royal duties) if ever you question if the UK is racist or not, see how they reacted to her vs how they reacted to the Prince Andrew scandal.

Thank u guys for the examples, I was ignorant to it. Indeed seems like the media was pretty biased and made racist remarks which hurt her feelings and made her wanna leave. I think Harry & Meghan as a couple made some problematic choices but as any rich socialite would in reality, they just have a huge platform. To me there's a difference between racist articles which are UNACCEPTABLE and CRITICISM which to me is acceptable. As of now how to differentiate from the two of them if some journalist could perhaps be racist, I don't know but what I know is that you cannot put these two distinct things in the same bag

I actually think the way Prince Andrew had less coverage in the british media and even was defended was not only insane but incredibly disgusting.
