The amount of “cool edgelords” on that thread, that’s a very misogynistic and toxic corner of Reddit. Just scrawl down a little bit to see all of them.

oh really? when i was there seemed like the vast majority were praising her

Can you share some examples with us? :oprah:

"Which is probably why her new stuff is so meh. Her first few albums were more or less just written by her, or her + another writer.

Now they have 4-5 writers in there per song, and it sounds like it."

"Why would her team hire more writers? I know nothing about music production so it's interesting. I'd have thought artists would get fewer cowriters over time not more."

"More control over the album, it's content, and how it falls in line with what they think will sell.

It's like how movie studios overproduce and control films to the point of them all becoming generic cookie-currer blockbuster material because they're scared of taking a risk."

It's just incredible how in 2015 when she was announced that she will play in AHS ,every single comment was negative and no one wanted her . And now 5 years later it's exactly the opposite:nooo::giveup::nooo::giveup:

Really? I never knew that, that's sad I assumed people were excited with her announcement and it's not like they hadn't had "singers" on the show before

the writers part is true, people joked on here about how many writers ROM has but we also know she's generous at giving credits

She gives out credits to minimal input but also considers production part of writing so shares it. She makes her money from touring anyway so doesn't need songwriting clout as she has that in spades regardless.

She is the goat.

I used to be one of those skeptical to her acting stints.

Neither of those is dragging Chromatica ma’am, only the first comment (although the user doesn’t even name the album and says “recent stuff”). The rest are just discussing about the number of writers pop songs tend to have and the reasons for it.

Reddit puts the most upvoted comments at the beginning, just keep on scrolling and you’ll see all the people dragging her, calling her talentless, saying she bought all her awards, they haven’t heard of her in years, no one cares for her, attention wh*re, the usual stuff. It’s actually a lot of comments about that.

Wow... this is a really great comment:

"I'll admit I was a Lady Gaga detractor. I thought she was being weird and her shocking presentation was a gimmick. I thought she would be just another mayfly pop artist who fades into obscurity after 1 or 2 years.

She's networked really well and branched off her career in many different directions. I've come to appreciate her performance as true art instead of a marketing gimmick.

I think she's done to music what Andy Warhol has done for painting."

.... especially the "I think she's done to music what Andy Warhol has done for painting".

Putting true performance art into pop music and celebrity.

And she's still doing it today. Just look at 911.
