Netflix's GLOW canceled in middle of season 4 prod

And yet again... It's that time of the year (which is basically every single day of this year for Netflix).

Netflix decided to cancel the Final Season of GLOW in mid production.

The reason : they didn't want to push back the release of the season because of Covid. Nor did they want to invest that much in respecting the new safety rules created because of the pandemic.

I guess there is also the possibility that the actresses had their schedule full at some point.

On the other hand, they did invest a lot more in Stranger Things, The Witcher and Locke and Key which started filming again.

Netflix is the new Fox where they cancel shows almost every other season. That’s crazy.

I guess canceling shows at some point are ok. But NOT canceling them after they are being renewed. :saladga:

REALITY

I haven't watched GLOW, but I heard it's pretty good. That really sucks for the cast and crew though...Cancelling in the middle of a production?

Netflix is really not trustful with their original shows.
At this point you just know there's 50% chance there will be only 1 season or the show will end before it was supposed to so the final episode will either suck or won't exist at all

Wow, what a punch to the gut. In their final season as well. This show is incredible and deserved so much better than this - Netflix has no integrity. I’m really sad about this.

they get rid of anything that doesn't accumulate a ton of views. as soon as views start to drop, they cancel. very annoying. stranger things is the only netflix original i watch now, and they're lucky they draw in as many people as they do.

kinda off topic, but is the witcher good?

By the end of the year, the only Netflix original show standing will be Stranger Things :poot:

Actors schedule themselves around shooting schedules. On a series that has been cancelled and they are shooting their last season, they have probably taken other jobs because they assumed after shooting that there would be no more work for them . It's sad but it the business.

They cancelled the society after it being renewed for almost 2 years... so it doesn’t come as a shock.

This is so sad! I loved this show, it was great to have a female centric show that was also an 80s period piece. Great cast too.

I was literally wondering when the next season will be released the other day. :(
