Beanybb 1,235
The only reason Katy got five number ones is because she released remixes with big name artists for every single after Firework. I lowkey don't think it was deserved but it iz what it izzz. If Gaga did something similar during The Fame era, I could see her getting 5 no 1's - not so much for BTW. KORG 4,756
TEOG was the biggest misstep of the era. I actually think the singles should have been.. BTW, TEOG, You & I, Electric Chapel I chose these because they're radio friendly but also not too jarring. Electric Chapel especially gets overlooked because her fans generally aren't fans of the metal influence but at that point in her career I think it would add some spice to her sound but the general bouncy-beat of it is very radio/club friendly whilst maintaining the gaga uniqueness. They went hard with album promo for the era, so I think overkill was a factor for the charts. I would expect #1, #1, #6, #10. If she needed promo singles they should have been HML & Hair. Jose P 23,341
Not at all. The thing about Gaga during BTW is that she was just not GP friendly at all. Her success was primarily based on the fact that she was a huge name and whatever she did would get attention. But the music was wild, extremely ambitious, and very out there, and let’s not talk about the visuals and the way she presented herself. BTW succeeded because she was at the peak of her popularity, something that wore off by the time ARTPOP came around. TD was Katy’s imperial era, BTW was Gaga’s overexposure era. Hades 27,980
As much as people here like to drag Katy for her music getting 5 #1's isn't easy even at your peak. It was once in a lifetime thing.
Stupid Oreo 14,211
The whole album was planned to include singles only, imagine

Lol She's got 5 number one singles, cause Teenage Dream is one of the best album of the 2000s Stop being so jealous. BTW is my fave Gaga album, but that album would never get 5 #1 singles
Chris Evans 8,917
she's not a payola artist given that they didn't even push bad romance a bit to #1 The Edge of Glory could have reached it and deserved to but those are the only #1s it could've had

Teenage Dream is a great pop album but if she didn’t push release those remixes they wouldn’t have been number 1. She’s no way on par with Michael for that record. I really enjoy her music, I’ve been listening to the bops off Smile for the past few weeks, so chill.
KennyRichie 1,898
I really don’t think Scheisse would’ve picked higher to the top 3, is not GP, it’s a fan favorite. the lyrics on the rest of the songs are not gp, they are too political, or too critical, or too creepy for soft gp stomachs that wanted what Katy Perry offered back then. writing this made me realize how much I love Gaga again. ❤️ She should really do whatever she wants, just love it. Blown Away 5,218
I think that 2 #1's was the max she could get out of the album. TEOG debuted at #3 almost entirely on sales, if the song had been the second single and received the radio push Judas got it would've been an easy #1. As for 6 #1 hits I'd say no. The album is sounding too heavy for that. It could've had 6 singles or more though. 1. Born This Way (released on February 11) - #1 2. The Edge Of Glory (released on April 9) - #1 3. Marry The Night (released on August 27) - #3 4. Hair (released on November 8) - #8 5. Heavy Metal Lover (released in February 2012) - #10 6. Fashion Of His Love (released in May 2012) 7. Yoü And I (released in August 2012) I genuinely believe this way she would've had at least 5 top 10 singles. Fashion Of His Love had the advantage of being on the deluxe edition of the album and thus being a 'new' song. Yoü And I would've been a top 40 hit, no matter what, thanks to album release week. They shipped it, but it got shipped back
Lord Temptation 11,209
If Marry the Night was released as the first single it would have been #1 for sure, just by the sheer momentum. Then Born This Way, which probably also would’ve hit #1. But then if ScheiSe was third single (as per Gaga’s wish) I doubt #1 would be guaranteed. Prob a top 5, maybe #2 or #3. For single number four, TEOG could easily have been her third #1 for the era, and probably the last. I doubt four or more #1 would be possible at this point in Gaga’s career, right at the edge of the peak of her Imperial 09-11 phase. (Recall that Katy only had two #1 and then flops thereafter during her Prism era, Taylor only had Blank Space as a massive WW #1 and then all the rest were moderate hits) So, assuming she kept releasing singles after TEOG, I think that You and I and also Bloody Mary would have been great choices, which would probably have peaked at #7 and #5, respectively, but with Y&I having longer chart endurance. I agree on Last Friday Night, the remix is the sole reason it got to #1. Like with the remix with S&M. But the E.T. remix with Kanye was released from the start and made it to #1 on its own. A bit like the Bad Blood remix by Taylor, that was was also released from the moment the song became a single and would've been a #1 on its own too. Delulu Rogers 7,088
Had TEOG been released as a single right after BTW with heavy promo it would have gone #1. Other than that, she wouldn't have gotten any more form that album as the music was too weird and gay for the gp. Still, the era should have been: BTW TEOG promo singles Hair/scheibe Album You and I MTN

AnglerfishbraBENUS 5,733
TEOG was suppose to be #1. the sales peaked by the time the radio impact was. If those happened at the same time it would have been different. (it was rush released after Judas as the official single) you and I went #1 on itunes the week of the album release too. Had it been an official single it would have also charted insanely high. Born This Way, The Edgo of Glory, and You and I could have been the #1s. Anything else would have been wishful thinking though.
