Democratic nominee Joe Biden's lead over President Trump in the presidential race has grown to 10 points, according to a poll taken after Trump tested positive for the coronavirus.

Fifty-one percent of respondents now back Biden, compared with 41 percent who support the president, according to the Reuters-Ipsos poll released Sunday. Four percent are backing a third-party candidate, while another 4 percent are undecided.

The survey also found continued disapproval of the president's response to the coronavirus pandemic, including his own diagnosis with the virus, first announced in the early hours of Friday. Fifty-seven percent of Americans disapprove of his response to the pandemic, an increase of 3 points from last week.

About 65 percent of respondents said they agree that "if President Trump had taken coronavirus more seriously, he probably would not have been infected," including 90 percent of Democrats and 50 percent of Republicans.

There is also more polling from Morning Consult taken after Trump's diagnosis that shows bad news for Trump:

https://morningconsult.com/form/reaction-poll-trump-covid/

-More than 3 in 5 voters think President Donald Trump didn’t take the proper precautions to protect himself from the coronavirus, according to a Morning Consult/Politico poll conducted in the wake of the president’s diagnosis.

-Overall, 63 percent of voters said the president did not take proper precautions to prevent contracting COVID-19, while 23 percent said he did take these steps and 15 percent didn’t know or had no opinion. There was a major political divide, though, with 86 percent of Democrats saying the president didn’t take precautions, compared with 63 percent of independents and 35 percent of Republicans.

-Most voters do not trust him to provide accurate information on his health: Fifty-five percent of voters said they don’t trust Trump to accurately depict his situation, and a similar share say the same of his administration as a whole.

-According to the survey, 56 percent of voters disapprove of the way Trump has handled the coronavirus pandemic, compared with 41 percent who approve. The numbers — underwater since April — are fairly consistent with where they have rested for weeks since sentiment about him recovered from a nadir in July amid the pandemic’s summertime surge.

Right? I mean, the choice is obvious at this point. If you're still voting Trump or third party, you have serious problems.

Imagine thinking you can sit on the sidelines or throw away your vote when Democracy or Fascism are the only viable options. It's disgustingly inept.

Exactly! I understand that not ueveryone is a fan of Biden; that's completely understandable, but he's literally the only right option.

Agreed, but the good news is that there are a lot less of both third party and undecided voters than there were in 2016.

The third party vote is basically nonexistent compared to then, and a much lower number who are undecided as well.

I hope this is accurate and Biden beats Trump by a landslide.

Well, it's not the only poll out there showing Biden widening his lead and Americans blaming Trump for his own diagnosis.

You can look at the Morning Consult poll I also cited above showing this, and there's much more polling showing big majorities of Americans don't trust Trump on it.

So I wouldn't be surprised to see other polls out this week showing Biden widening his lead in some places and demographics.

The latest numbers on seniors is atrocious for Trump, a key voting bloc for him in 2016, for instance.
