I've seen two possibilities.

1) The election goes on with nothing changed. Trump can still win, even if he's dead. If that were to happen, Pence would assume the presidency.

2) The election would be delayed due to the fact that over a million votes have already been cast, many for Trump who is now dead. So the GOP and Democrats meet and decide who to put at the top of their presidential ticket (there is no primary though, just the party leaders picking people).

The Democrats would likely keep Biden/Harris because their base chose them and the GOP would probably pick Pence and someone else. Then we do the election over again. The new GOP pick might be more popular but he'll have a hard time harnessing Trump's feral core base so who knows?

In the second case scenario, Pelosi becomes president on Jan 20th assuming she's still speaker of the house (and she will be).

The problem is, depending on what stage the election is in at the time of Trump's hypothetical passing, the election can and will be dragged through the federal courts which are all stacked with Republicans and Trump appointees.

It's just much simpler to hope he pulls through and then loses. There are way too many unknowns and chances for shenanigans otherwise.

I hope we don't have to find out. Trump's going to live (the good die young anyway, he'll live into his 100s) and then Biden is going to crush him

Today I was working at a bar and I had to serve a glass of Corona to a table. I thought to myself 'I'd love to say a Trump-Corona joke to the guest but I shouldn't in case they're a Trump supporter'

I walk up to the guy and he's wearing a Trump 2020 hat

I did find it amusing serving him Coronas all day though
