I was so disappointed in Waste Management. I loved the concept. Loved the production. Visuals. But the lyrics in English were terrible. They made no sense. Also, in the first 2 English albums, their English was much more clear. In the last English album, Yulia had a very strong accent. I mainly listen to the Russian albums with Lyudi Invalidi being my favorite. Idk what the hell happened with Waste Management. Songs just made no sense lol

I agree completely. I listen to Waste Management every so often but I cringe a lot. Luckily we have the Russian counterparts for most of those songs. I love Running Blind but Yulia pronouncing "echos" as "airholes" ruins it for me.

Lyudi Invalid is my favorite too. Definitely one of their best.

Don't even get me started on the verses on Time of the Moon. The demo version we heard for the trailer for You and I the movie had much better lyrics. But the album version "we're spilling beans" like waaait, what are we doing? Chorus was ok. Chorus in Sparks was ok but the verses were a mess. "Silly words looking for a meaning" is 100% right. Snegopadi is my fave song off of the russian version [the demo was more interesting] but I have NO IDEA was the English one is about. "Be frightening, like lightning be" uhhh ok? And Fly on the Wall sounds like a demo. Lyudi Invalidi has no skips at all. Chto Ne Hvataet is my fave followed by Kosmos. Vsya Moya Lyubov is beautiful.

Lmao I agree with all of this. Time of the Moon is a big ole skip. I try to forget about her. I wish they did an official transcendent version for Veselye Ulybke bc the transition into Sparks just tickles me right. And Snowfalls - "feeling down is the worst way to go". :toofunny: I would have liked Fly on the Wall more without the "ooooWHOaohhh". Why was that a good idea?

Chto Ne Hvataet live is so beautiful, so much atmosphere (and the drums). I'm still sad they never performed VML live. Although there's a clip from a signing where Yulia is singing along with the the track but it's just a low quality tease.

We like to talk about messy eras, but if you lived the final years of t.A.T.u. you're pretty much prepared for anything lol.

I remember the excitement after the release of Beliy Plaschik and its amazing music video, but then everything went downhill really fast. There was a buch of delays, the whole movie thing was a mess that by the time it came out no one really cared. We had the name of the album and the photoshoot, but then they changed it for the astronaut one and if Im not mistaken they got into legal trouble so they just covered her face.

The release of the album was the most uneventful thing, and then over a year later the english version came out, using everything they scrapped for the russian one and the songs werent very good. Then they disbanded and all the sh*t that was going on behind the scenes came out.

Its a shame everything ended the way it did, I think they deliverd great music, great visuals and usually had some social commentary. For me Lyudi Invalidy remains their best work, Im still in love with that industrial pop/rock sound.

Can you imagine?? Now that would be a feature I’m here for. Because the one we got.... let me just stay quiet.

I still have the discount ticket for when Happy Smiles was still called Upravleniye Obratsami, it came in the Beliy Plaschik hyperion plate remix CD [I got mine signed and it was the 38th one they signed since they wrote the numbers on it too]. Then it had the cover poster with that cool Y inside the O. God I loved the theme that they had going with this. I remember they got those shirts made with fan from the tatu.ru site and I had just changed my username to WM and was upset because I made it on the shirt as WM not ChavaWM [by the way the WM in my name is because of Waste Management].

I also saw snuck into the Santa Barbara show they did, I was like 12 years old. Lol.

When they started performing solo, I hated that they had similar setlists and almost no WM songs or songs like Ya Tvoi Vrag

Omg yeah I remember in the interviews they did, they talked about how cool it was to add the background singer. It was so out of place. You and I the song also was slowed song compared to the movie trailer. It didn't have the punch the trailer had.

I wonder why 220 was more of a yulia song and Martian Eyes was only Lena.

Does anyone remember the Beliy Plaschik demo they teased?

If you’ve heard one song of theirs you’ve heard them all. They all sound the same.

Shadow

I remember this group. I thought they were super sexy when I saw them on the MTV Movie Awards.

Do your own research.
