While the question of who won Tuesday's presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden lies in the court of public opinion, Spanish-speaking viewers of Telemundo gave their support to Trump.

Both candidates have campaigned heavily in the Latino community. Trump's campaign has attempted to reel in Latino supporters with his Latinos for Trump initiative. Biden made an appearance at a September Hispanic Heritage Month celebration in Florida. Work by the Trump campaign to attract Latino voters may be paying off.

In a poll after the debate, 66 percent of participants told Telemundo they believed Trump won the debate. Only 34 percent of poll participants thought Biden made a better showing in Tuesday's debate.

Newsweek reached out to the Biden campaign for comment.

Lost in translation :triggered:

Btw, this is one of those headlines that forgets to mentions the important thing. It should be :

"66% of Spanish speaking americans who watch Fox News and Telemundo think that Trump won" - it suddenly doesnt look so bad. :huntyga:

66 percent of spanish-speaking Americans are wrong about that:yennefer:

Its invalid who actually won, its more about peoples perception of who won.

True. But I can't understand how someone could watch that debate and think Trump won:bear: Tbh I didn't watch it to the end, so I don't know if he came out on top in the end (I highly doubt it), but from what I saw, I would definitely say Biden won

I agree, even though I thought this would be an easy win for Trump. Ill wait for a better source and polls to see what people actually thought.
