Where is LG7 3,720
every dislike, reservation and "but I-" comments made towards this video makes me wanna guys who dont like the film and whatever thing you nitpick from it... it's kinda sad to know how small and limited your appreciation to an artist's interpretation of their work... their ARTWORK. the film is such a precious gem that needs to be understood first WHAT DOES IT CONVEY? and WHY they did all of those symbolisms in the first place... NOT WHAT YOU EXPECTED IT TO BE. and that's why we're just the audience and Gaga's the artist. She doesn't give a second to whatever unnecessary banter or expectation you put to the table cause the table has already been served!
Pennywise 36,079
By the way the reason I'm this shook is that from the first picture I was expecting a Grimes-like aesthetics video but she served a masterpiece instead I still cannot So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted. I think its the best story and meaning in her whole career BUT the music video itself in terms of cinematography, editing, composition. Is probably her worst looking music video. EDIT: and yes I LOVE the Stupid Love music video because it was beautiful composed. Matched the song. And had to the beat editing. do you have something in your eyes? LMAO it's her most visually impressive video since Bad Romance. mmmy name ~isn't~ aliceee
SOON 4,097
So happy that it's a unique pop video and not another one shot in a club with a choreo just because the song is upbeat. And there's hasnt been a second where I felt bored the video is very absorbing. It's my fave from chromatica era tbh gaga, halsey, lorde, taylor, dua

Oriane 20,935
Yes, in terms of filming, it's... bad The end is good in those aspects though. Well, it's fine, not amazing but fine, it could work in a movie. The meaning is great, the references are great, but throwing multiple references in a video doesn't make it great. Anyone can do that. metalguru 1,553
It makes me so sad to hear all the negativity around 911. What is this "high-budget" obsession? The video is an example of perfect symmetry, and is a product of well-though research. Who would have thought one day Gaga will reference to a Soviet-Armenian art house masterpiece? The emotional catharsis of the video is beyond powerful. Manic, painful, and intentionally stiff movements are reflections of body spasms. Bicycle and innocence, pomegranates and fertility... all the dualities...

I love BR's video, but I also lowkey think it's overrated. Yes, when the budget is not that high and there are restrictions, you should work your way around it instead of trying to make it happen anyway. I think what makes me cringe the most is the moments when the characters fly and they just filmed them in front of a green screen and made the background move in the editing... Just remove the flying from the script, find something else that fits The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic! Like, it has thought put into it, sure, but I think haters and lovers of the video alike have thought too much about the video lol it’s alright imo. I liked it. The acting was good and unsettling (as was the point). i actually only wish she didn’t use 911 in such a straight forward way. Like, I wish she got crafty with it like how FKA twigs did with sad day. I think that would have suited the “high art” approach better. To me, that is a perfect example of blending high art and a commercial music video Then it would not be "Gaga" anymore. This kind of silly, campy, unreasonable artistry is her signature visuals. One that many of her earlier fans are accustomed of. It is complex not because of the symbolisms (it's actually pretty obivous) but as how she integrated those with some cultural reference. And FKA Twigs sad day was okay for me. Nothing too complex either. It's not high art per se though. 12 minutes ago, Oriane said: Yes, in terms of filming, it's... bad The end is good in those aspects though. I doubt anyone can do it to this degree It;s obivous that this will be a series of MVs so the structures and concept are weaved in such way in goes hand in hand ... so yeah like a movie or so. And Gaga is known (at least on the earlier days of her career) to reference a lot of movies. So idk what u talking about. 3 minutes ago, Steven said: I agree 100%, sometimes less is more. It's Lady Gaga Well I mean she did some stripped down MVs and they're cute but this kind of art is what she;s known for. Aside from dance MVs.
