When Was Gaga's Psychotic Break?

She did say she had one big one and I feel like she alluded to it having happened more than once. Which is pretty terrifying (one is terrifying), you know those places are really awful and it's typically a traumatic experience.

The one I remember her saying the time for was when the deposition in the Kesha case flared up.

But Gaga is someone we really have to stand up for. To uphold the integrity of her image and the perception that she's a capable and sane and sane behavioural person. See she's charting an extremely difficult path in the public sphere being a (somewhat consistent) shock rocker, and queen of freaks, an unapologetic sexual executor, in a sociological framework of hers and others design that was built up from the start of her career around her ego that literally makes her larger than life and actually famous (mega mega famous) that isn't a mental illness (despite it causing mental difficulties) to the point that she has real cause to be paranoid about stalkers and being followed and people talking about her all the time, a history with wide and extensive drug use (which might seem like poor judgement and honestly generally is, but everyone should have free reign to make those choices for themself over the course of their life and this facet of behavioural abnormality is always heavily invoked upon by mental health practitioners), not to mention she's seen as weird acting cause of what she chooses to wear and ever stranger art (including people vomiting on her and the like) (things we appreciate as artistic but the prejudiced can think are signs of mental illness, remember mental health systems haven't traditionally looked that favourably on freedom of expression and one persons art or assumed identity is to another person a problematic symptom).

We really don't want anyone to take advantage of her when she's vulnerable and her being forced into some Britney type thing (which is awful and unfair btw). Honestly we've all been bullied before at some point. You know what it's like for people to create a narrative around you and push you into it to control you for someone else's ego to feel bolstered, or a bunch of people, or as maybe this case, the media and public's thirst for tragic downfall stories of successful artists (like how Gaga has predicted as a possible difficulty before).

I just really hope she's not being pigeonholed to act a certain way under threat of being forced to undergo more painful mental health experiences. She may talk the virtues of being supported by mental health systems and treatments, but I sort of think it's at the point where she's just playing the game, and though there's true benefits getting to that point (both to the point where you'll agree with that and be accepting of your treatment process) can be a difficult journey and many people are still mistreated and neglected by the system. It helps that she's a megastar with lots of money and a lot of clout about her artistic credentials that she can basically be seen for who she is hopefully and work with it to her advantage. Still I hear a lot of pain and frustration in songs like 911.

I've always thought this looked like a mental health ward, it has that sad dourness about the decor that those places have to make you feel uncomfortable enough you'll try not to end up back there. But if it's Gaga's office I'm sorry, I mean like... you should refurbish totally, but I didn't mean to say it was awful like a mental ward. She just looks drained and unhappy like you do there in these photos. Working on... but maybe just flatly expressing how aghast she is?

Sorry Gaga if you didn't want any such speculation, I wouldn't want you to feel we're insensitive to your personal life / feelings.

Thats interesting because I thought the biggest changes in her occurred around cheek to cheek era. The GaGa during Joanne was somewhat different to previous eras but I guess you could put that down to maturity and experience maybe. 

She seemed to be on really good form when she performed at the One America Appeal and wasn’t that Oct 2017?

The deposition happened in Sept. 2017. Long story short, Kesha and Gaga texted each other. Kesha claimed DL raped KATY. DL sued Kesha for defamation. Subpoenaed Gaga's TEXTS (to prove Kesha defamed him).  

Gaga's lawyer said she was TRIGGERED by the depo (because of her own sexual assault experience) and was crying... She was very emotional, needed a break, and never came back. Two days later she cancelled her Rio concert. (She was hospitalized.)

Truth is, we only know what Gaga wants us to know, sometimes months or YEARS after the fact. This is one reason we should try to be kind... because we don't know what people are going through. 

Anyway, it takes time for mental health patients to accept their diagnosis ("what do you mean it's all in my head?!"), most don't talk about it because of the stigma. 

The first time Gaga mentioned her psychotic break was in an ELLE Magazine interview (with Oprah) in late 2019. It took her a couple years but she wrote a song about it, she might as well talk about it.

I mean...I was intrigued and I clicked on this thread and read posts but tbh....

I am now very uncomfortable with this entire thread and I think it's none of our business really unless she herself wants to share. Us investigating her trauma like this isn't the tea

Online it says the One America Appeal happened on 21 October 2017. This was roughly just over a month after it happened. The timeline goes

11 September - Gaga performs her final JWT date for the first NA leg in Philadelphia.

12 September - Kesha court case (Gaga's break is rumoured to have happened during the court case and she was hospitalised which she said during her interview with Oprah earlier this year)

14 September - Gaga cancels Rock in Rio performance due to severe pain which wasn't just her hip or wear & tear from touring (which could've been caused by emotional distress)

18 September - Gaga postpones the EU leg of the JWT for early 2018 due to severe pain. 

21 October - Gaga performs at One America Appeal

3 November - Gaga performs her first JWT dater the second NA leg in Montreal.

We all know that Gaga can look happy but deep down she really isn't. During ASIB awards season (2018/2019) she was winning all these awards but she wasn't actually feeling the best (which we later know she was creating Chromatica)

I agree that it is uncomfortable to talk about however I think it's coming from a place of love and caring for her (which is a shock from this fanbase considering how often some (not all) but some monsters complain about Gaga)
