Personally speaking, I think it's a BRILLIANT decision and this goes beyond the usual reasons of great lyrics, potential visuals and production for a song to be pushed as one. A lot of people here might not be aware but the Chromatica II/911 transition is extremely viral on the short video and content-based platform, TikTok. However, the transition is incorrectly known as #violintransition on the app because one person decided to replace 911 with other songs like Buttons by PCD and everyone else blindly followed in recreating it Just imagine how amazing videos like these would look if they are actually followed by 911 and not a random song: To date, the hashtag and associated videos have racked over 70 million views (!) and has been used in 650k+ videos. That is an insane amount of potential that would just go to waste if not tapped into and milked properly. IMO, this is a great way to not only capitalize on its viral status but also to use it to help direct people's attention to the album. This seems like the best possible choice to extract another big hit from the era. Remember, the biggest hits of the year like Savage and Savage Love (Laxed Siren Beat) started on TikTok and became streaming smashes. 911 has the best chance to replicate that kind of success, even if in a miniature way. And even if it's not a monster hit, we will still have new visuals! There's literally no reason to complain. Let's support Gaga and her team's decision and trust their vision for the era. This is the first era since BTW where we could be getting three (or more) official singles with accompanying visuals. Isn't that exciting? The fact people are replacing 911 with other songs is not a good sign. One person replaced it and others just copied the original track that that person used for their video. Individual people aren't actively replacing it, they're just copying the trend blindly. People there just DON'T KNOW about 911 the song, not that they don't like it. If her team can execute this properly, they can have a hit on their hands. Because people there don't know that Chromatica II leads to a Lady Gaga song called 911? Trust me, it isn't popular because of Buttons. It's because of the transition itself. They just need to market the song well enough to the TikTok kids. They'll eat literally anything up as long as it's cool and edgy. Interscope and Gaga should capitalize off this free promo and invest in producing a well executed and entertaining video. Now is the time to seize the moment and claim 911 as Chromatica's next hit single. Monsters with accounts on the Tik Tok App need to spread awareness to the origin of the interlude and that it comes from Gaga's album. I am all aboard and approve of 911. It's a very eccentric song but Gaga is known for that and has had hits that were very different and weird in the past. They need to play their cards right.
