FfFfFfFF 54,889
This day in 2016, Gaga released Perfect Illusion as the lead single off Joanne. Primarely pop-rock, the track also features punk vocals, a very fast tempo dance vibe and hints of disco and electronic in the instrumental. In the US the song debuted inside the top 20 and peaked at #1 in select countries and territories such as France, Greece, Finland and Wallonia. Despite its initial negative reception from fans, the song became an underrated gem in Gaga's discography according to some. Do you remember this day? Did your opinion on the song change over the years?

Guest
HOW?! has it been 4 years?? I was more of a casual fan of Gaga at the time, but i was so happy to see her back! Its not my most favourite off of Joanne but it deserved better.

littlepotter 74,790
I will never understand the hate for this song. It's without a doubt one of her career highlights, her second best to me. The raw passion and anger that song exudes is so intense I don't see how anyone can listen and hear just noise chaeri pls
Hybrid AT 78
A discography highlight. Aged like fine wine and the perfect window into the "Joanne" era. A true rush of emotions from the get go. Listening to this song every single time is like having adrenaline pumped right into your veins. The key change and the long vocal belt right before the outro >>> I'll never forget when I heard the opening guitar riffs in this teaser. Loved it and a fan since day one. Red 97,490
Been the best song on Joanne, still the best song on Joanne and forever will be the best song on Joanne If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.
Jose P 23,341
This song was definitely the ultimate grower for me. When it first came out I hated it so much I had already accepted I didn’t like Gaga anymore and gave up on her music. Million Reasons was actually what got me into Joanne and kept me from unstanning during that era (that and the Super Bowl) But now I actually love the song and is one of my favorites from the album
