Her album perfectionist was a bop tbh in 2011, but it never crosses my mind when I think of bops nowadays. She was very clearly marketed to be like Lady Gaga. The Context? its 2011, Gaga in promoting Born This Way, after promoting TFM and singles like Alejandro. Dark Electro-Dance sounds were popular. Natalia was marketed to be an english lady gaga; high fashion, dark music videos and lyrics, making pop music but it was intelligent, and she was aware of this. In early interviews, she was regularly asked about being compared to Gaga, and she always tried to make it seem like there was none; there was. her videos featured very gaga inspired elements like hearts, pills, bondage etc. Her lyrics were about 'killing her boyfriend' or living a famous life...get the point?
