Even the so-called praise (the little to be found) is back-handed. Yeah, but they have no problem using her popularity right now to cash in on some clicks. Rats. thehanyo 4,251
Also, it says the article is written by Staff, but there are only two authors credited across all the blurbs. They want to be nasty and use her name for clicks, but they're too cowardly to put them under their author profiles. Also, they gave Smile a better review than Chromatica and thought the Cursed Madonna remix of Levitate was "sublime."
Mister G 10,421
ASIB is but isn’t Gaga so I won’t include it... Slant’s ranking is trash and they live to trash her every now and then. It should be: 1) Born This Way 2) The Fame Monster 3) Chromatica 4) ARTPOP 5) The Fame 6 Joanne 7 C2C At the end of the day, every album is its own stand alone era and offers something unique each go-around. Slant can go kick rocks with their attempt at clicks and views.
Aga Gydal 3,158
You can tell the writer isn’t a big fan, which makes the ranking much less interesting and kind of irrelevant to me. I’d much rather hear a diehard talk about her work tbh
macca 1,318
This ranking is a hot mess. Joanne should be last. Chromatica first.

Rankings are debatable because we all have different favorites, so I don't mind their rankings (even though I disagree), but they shade even the high-ranking albums. And imagine mentioning "Americano" as one of the highlights of BTW? (I don't dislike the song like some on here, but I wouldn't list it as an examples of BTW's "great beats" or however that reviewer phrased it.) monstertoronto 10,069
Ugh I regret opening it and giving them the click. They are clearly trying to capitalize on Gaga’s VMA windfall and attention by throwing this out there, but I couldn’t get past crap they wrote about the first three albums on this list. It actually made me angry. Screw Slate who still try to drag Gaga while pretending to “celebrate” her for views.
LordByron28 1,059
Here is what my personal ranking would be: 1. Chromatica- this may change over time. However, right now it feels like the right ranking. It just captures a lot of different facets of Gaga together. It is a personal album that sheds light into her mental health in Gaga's own way. The tracks are pop perfections throughout and have the best ratio of hits since TFM. The album slightly recalls elements from previous albums such as TFM, BTW and ARTPOP without being retreads. Chromatica also has a clear and completely realized concept. 2. The Fame Monster- the Papparazzi VMA performance to Bad Romance music video to album drop turned me into a fan. I adore this album and every track is enjoyable, although I do skip telephone. It is a nonstop ride with pop hits and themes. The aesthetics were on point this era. 3. Born This Way- Thoroughly enjoy this album. Feels like a real highway musical ride that I am going on. At times it feels a little long winded and veers slightly off course but overall it's a wonderful ride. I think the only real improvement I would give for it was to have been a bit more cohesive. While there are a lot of bops on the album. TEOG holds a special place in my heart as I had been taking care of my grandfather and he passed away in June 2011 during TEOG'S single era. It had a clear concept for the most part although at some points; I felt like the album bounced around to different interesting sounds without fully exploring the ideas that came about. I felt like Government Hooker, Judas, Scheibe, Bloody Mary and Heavy Metal Lover belonged on a different album. I loved the tracks but I almost wonder how an album that released in late 2010 like originally intended with tracks that sounded like those tracks and explored more sounds like that. Then in the end of 2011 released Born This Way which more fully explored the other interesting concepts she explored in the rest of BTW. 4. ARTPOP- A very high concept album that I love dearly. Venus is peak Gaga for me in terms of her pop songs. However, the album and concept was too ambitious for it's own good. It needed more time in the oven. The app and the supposed music videos for every song which never were fully realized. PARTYNAUSEOUS was an unfortunate cut. I think some songs could've had better production and fine tuning. I also think that with more time better ideas could've replaced some of the other material (like J&D and Donatella). DWUW was a bad collab choice. There are many Gaga peaks and highlights. However, the album was probably her least cohesive in terms of sound. I think had their been more time there could've been a more cohesive and focused vision for the album. I understood and loved the elements but it didn't really blend together well as a cohesive piece. I enjoyed the sensual and R&B influenced tracks such as Sexxx Dreams, DWUW as well as wanting to collaborate with rap artists. Heck she could've incorporated some jazz elements depending on the concept and sound. I would've enjoyed an entire album of that but it did not fit on ARTPOP, imo. Like BTW, I felt like I would've divided up the two sounds and concepts as I would've enjoyed diving into both sounds and concepts more thoroughly. 5. Joanne- I liked Joanne. I really enjoyed the concept and idea. It isn't my first choice in music but I understood the vision. Do I want another one? Heck no. However, in the grand scheme of her career. I do appreciate the album. Slightly disappointed that she didn't incorporate Diamond Heart into her superbowl performance as that song was designed for there. Especially over Perfect Illusion but oh well. Also ASIB kinda helped her fully achieve what she was going for on a pop culture level in terms of that style of music. 6. The Fame- I enjoy the album but I rarely if ever listen to any of the tracks off that album. It was fun and had some good and interesting moments but also was clearly a new artist trying to fledged her path. Her singles as well as a few other tracks are still solid and hold up. Summer Boy and Paper Gangsta are guilty pleasures.
