Eminem is the most successful artist of the 21st century

I hope that's not why, but I didn't know many rappers got there own threads here generally at all besides Kanye West with his tweets. I know Kendrick Lamar has had a lot of love here though

Madonna was on top from 1984-1994, then she experienced a decline in popularity, then she had a comeback from 1998-2003, then she flopped again and had a big comeback in 2005-2008 and then she flopped again.

Rihanna? Eminem and Adele have bigger album sales, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift have bigger tour gross, Britney and Gaga have bigger peaks and Katy Perry has bigger singles (though not as many #1s as Rihanna).

#1 singles aren't the only factor that counts. Yes, Rihanna has more than anyone on that list but two of them are with Eminem and she loses in most areas to all the others. 

The longevity belongs to Beyoncé or Eminem. They've been on top for almost two decades.
