Beyoncé shimmied in the guise of her alter ego, Sasha Fierce. Nicki Minaj flipped through personalities while wearing anime silhouettes and fuschia patterns. Kesha, glitter-strewn and studded, babbled her battle cries. Taylor Swift trundled around in horse-drawn carriages This sounds so nostalgic

Despite both of them being compared to each other all the time I’ve never found their music to be similar at all, Lana’s music is very theatrical to the point it almost feels like she’s singing through a character, Lorde’s music is very introspective and has inspired just as many people as Gaga has tbh. Reject False Icons 4,744
Also can we focus on the fact that the management of most pop stars went to s#** since 2013, it almost seems on purpose that everything happened to lead the way to other artists, Kesha with Dr. Luke, Gaga with Troy carter, Katy and her management since 2017, Miley’s messy releases

Lana has her own slew of copycats and is hugely influential, but the current gen z sound of Lauv, Billie Eilish, Troye Sivan, BENEE etc. etc. sonically and lyrically resembles Royals more than anything Lana ever did. headspin, happiness, DE̤̣A̢̯͔̘T͏͙̗̟̫H̗̙͡ͅ
Regina George 59,387
Such a shame people now would rather listen to wannabe autotune rappers rapping about having sex and wet vagina than to those amazing pop songs that actually have longevity and that classic feel to them. Shame. Call be old school but music nowadays that’s popular is nothing but trash.

I didn’t say she was a massive superstar, I said she influenced music which in itself is an understatement, Pure Heroine started a whole wave of youthful introspective pop albums that still haven’t really died down as a trend today. I agree but her influence on music is no where near Gaga's honestly..
Guest
It annoys me so much how people credit ROM success to Ariana, it's literally Gaga's song for her album.... I am starting to think pop musics best days are behind them, most songs on the radio just sound the same these days.
