she's not wrong. But at the same time...

But I don't get how "Bad Guy" 's lyrics correlate with rappers and excess.

She takes a lot of issue with things that have absolutely nothing to do with her.

Seems having 1 hit song has really gone to her head.

Well in her case, she isn't wearing looks just to "act rich", she always wears some shocking or cool outfits because she loves them and she wants everyone to see how she could literally wear anything and look cool :vegas:

That actually sounds really biased now that I'm re-reading this :derpga:

Is that always the case, though? Fame perfume-Ga seemed ALL about the Posh Life.mp3 :trollga:

I basically agree with you, though :) I just wanted to put a little food for thought into the mix.

Funny, the "new Lorde" is making the same statement with her big song that Lorde made with her big song (Royals). I'm guessing Billie is too young to remember the backlash that got too.

Yeah, I think she was trying something and didn't end up liking it anyway, there was really no other time she was like that right? Am I wrong? :derpga:

i mean, like, that’s kind of the point of certain types of rap? if they can think of good ways to flex and think of good bars, who cares?

I suspect that when she said that artists were lying in their music, that she meant that she was lying in the song.

When I read the lyrics, it sounds like a girl making out with another girls man. She called herself a bad guy for doing it. She calls the man a tough guy rough guy.

I think she maybe was just saying that this didn't really happen.

Just my interpretation of all that.

But does she really flex that stuff? Obviously red carpet wear and jewelry is always borrowed/sponsored that's a common practice. I just think that it's pointless to try to look richer than you really are. Flex it if you really have it and own it not when you just show it off for instagram and then give it back or have debt behind the scenes...

I do think it promotes a very parasitic capitalistic culture that is NOT helpful, but something I’ve been reading about lately, as this relates to rappers, is that this line of “flex” has come when Black folx have started to get successful so now White folx have a problem. I’m not calling you specifically out on that (I don’t know you like that lol), but I think it’s something to consider in the conversation especially with Billie being the one to talk about it.

In fairness, most celebs wear borrowed stuff. Gaga does all the time for when she turns looks and isn’t just popping to Starbucks lol

But that's normal. Designers use artist's appearances as walking advertisements. It's more about how they pretend to flaunt their money in their normal life when they rent it.
