Lucas 26,793
I think at this point in the era anything would flop... Also I think this album is absolutely flawless and top 3 Gaga best but there's no smash hit material on the album
Anderson123 38,259
Babylon would've been a good promo single. Could've been released before Rain On Me if it weren't for COVID19.
REALITY 76,295
I don't understand why people keep trying to say that certain songs will be flops or that certain songs will smash with the GP. Let's go through some of Gaga's singles: Just Dance? Not radio-friendly, but did well. Poker Face? Not radio-friendly, but did well. Bad Romance? Not radio-friendly, but did well. Alejandro? Not radio-friendly, but did well. Born This Way? Not radio-friendly, but did well. TEOG? Not radio-friendly, but did well. Judas? Not radio-friendly, but did well. Applause? Not radio-friendly, but did well. Shallow? Not radio-friendly, but did well. Literally the only songs that are "radio-friendly" that are Gaga's hits are ROM and MR. Other than that, her biggest hits have just been songs that people liked—regardless if they were "digestible" for the GP and radio. Babylon could or couldn't be one of those songs. Truthfully, we'll just never know until she decides to make it a single. Let's just hope that we're even getting a third single for this era 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
Killa 17,461
Singles have more than just the ability to chart and sell It gives her momentum, it helps the public have new perspective of the artist. Maybe get new demographic or solidify one. Theyll all flop at this point. Its almost guaranteed. Tho ofc who knows.

ToxicHot 6,444
Yeah, I absolutely agree. I freaking LOVE Babylon. But I just feel like the GP wouldn’t care too much for it, especially because it has such an 80’s-90’s sound that’s unique when you compare it to other songs released in the last year that also had a throwback sound (Don’t Start Now, Blinding Lights, Say So). I could be wrong though. But another thing to consider is the fact that, it might not strong enough to be a single NOW. I would really like to see how things would’ve turned out if it was the LEAD SINGLE. I still think Stupid Love is overall very weak and was only chosen because it’s the most commercial (except for Rain on Me and Sour Candy). And it’s Gaga trying too hard to emulate past hits rather than trying something new, which is actually what Chromatica ended up being anyway - something new! (at least, as a whole) dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1!
buzzkill 5,152
You guys are always with this “that song would flop hard” when in reality we don’t know. music industry is unpredictable sometimes, and non radio-friendly songs can have commercial success if it is well promoted
petty 9,412
I’d have to agree. It could have a chance to do well outside of the US but yeah It’s still one of the best songs on Chromatica

MOT 3,028
If some appeal to the GP is a requirement for non-flopping, then I think it would flop. In fact, on that criterion, it would be the last song from Chromatica that I would release as a single.
