BillieGOAT 5,227
Ok I’m actually really excited for this! I’m ready for an interview where she is asked deeper questions, I want to hear what this album means/means to her with a deeper answer than the “dance through the tears” line. Zane will get it out of her!

LastNight 5,935
Excited for this! Zane is such a great interviewer and I’m really intrigued to hear Katy talk about the past few years of her career and her new perspective. I’ve honestly enjoyed most of the music she’s put out since Witness. NRO and HIH are amazing songs that deserved to smash, and Small Talk and Smile are cute Summer bops; looking forward to hearing the full album! flyaway 15,350
I'm glad she has a new perspective on things. But every time she speaks, it reminds me so much of what Gaga's said before. "I don't like to be put in a box" "I'm different things" "I'm a chameleon". I know many other artists have said similar things, but even the way of saying it is too similar. She's a big fan

xoxo Craig 55,649
Anyway, just watched the interview. This was one of her best interviews. I hope there is more to come because it ended shortly. Many things in this interview I agree with wholeheartedly. "When I see artists who I've known for like a decade on a concoction of medication, and they've completely changed as a person from the music industry, its sad. Its not tiring, its sad. Its sad when artists have an OD, or shoot themselves in the head because they can't cope. Like why is that glorified? Why is that rock n roll? Its not cool, its sad" This hit a chord with me. Think how many artists have been through that. Gaga, Demi... and even the ones not here like Amy. Heck, Britney is a great example. Katy said that the media have to own up, as well as the industry, since they are putting more pressures on artists. She said its killing them. There needs to be better support for artists, both mentally and physically. Its not fair at all. She's right. Its sad. End Racism Now
xoxo Craig 55,649
Zane also talks about how the industry pushes artists to make "music for the timeline, not for the soul" which is so true. So many artists put out generic, bland, quick-fire singles to be trendy or to simply sell records. Very few actually make records, as he says, for the soul. Very few actually make albums that people will have a connection with on a deeper level, or albums that you can play from start to finish in 5 years time and it will sound great or the lyrics may have taken on a different meaning. There aren't timeless classics anymore. I'm hoping that this is indicative of Katy's work on Smile and in future projects. I think she's had this in her previous album, but I think she'll take it further from here on out. I love her so much, I hope she's keeping well End Racism Now
