IDK about other K-Pop acts, but for YG Artists, they usually only able to write after certain years of tenure. Just like some BIGBANG members (mainly G-D) and CL.

All K-Pop groups are manufactured by the same writers and producers... The girls have never written a line in their lives.

What Gaga said wasn't misleading tho: she did ask them for their input and sent the song to their camp for it to be reviewed, and what they sent back is what ended up on the record. It just happens to be written by the same guy who writes all of their songs... Had they all been in the same room together, maybe things could have been different, but that's how K-Pop works.

Please, not this dumb ass sh!t again. There are many groups like GIDLE, TWICE, EXID, BIG BANG, BTS and a bunch of other groups write/produce their own music. Y'all need to stop generalizing the entire kpop industry especially you have only ever heard only 3 kpop songs in entire life.

Please ignore the spelling in username. I am a Beyonce stan afterall.

There are always exceptions to every situation, but you can't deny this is how the K-Pop industry works. It sure is true for BLACKPINK.

Also, don't make assumptions about people simply because they don't share your view of things. K-Pop is vastly problematic in its functioning whether you like it or not.

There's an interview they did in the states where the guy is asking them about each song and how the process was, what did they mean by the lyrics, and they were like "yeah our producer did it and we sang it :sis:" to every song :ladyhaha:

That was their interview on the Zach Sang Show. So awkward. haha

Do you want me to list more kpop idols can write or produce their music so we can stop this "exception" excuse? I can. Here's a link: https://onehallyu.com/topic/41452-masterlist-of-songwritercomposer-k-pop-artists/

Both of blackpink's senior groups 2EN1 and BIGBANG both write their own music. 2EN1 rival, who is Girls Generation also writes their own music.

Back to how kpop industry works? If you are willing to have a large platform like YG or SM, who have a reputation of consistent product's quality, there is a strict quality control. Also, Idols can always submit their work, which doesn't mean it is going to be approved or funded (similar to western ones).

Smaller companies nowadays have created more opportunities for idols to write and produce their own songs since IT IS LESS COSTLY.

the exception is k-pop artists who DON'T write their own music, not the other way around. are you someone who has genuinely researched and looked into this, or someone who's been told that k-pop idols are robots and therefore believe it? blackpink have written songs, many times, but just have been prevented from recording and releasing them, it's sad, but it doesn't mean they don't write. the ratio of writing artists to non-writing artists is more or less the same as the western industry. stop generalizing about something you clearly have no idea about, when a vast majority of k-pop idols do write or produce their own work.

even then, many sm and yg groups do produce their own music (just see exo, bigbang, 2ne1, nct). it's a blatant lie by western stans that they don't create their own music, and a vast majority in fact do make their own music. you're right about pretty much everything, i especially agree on the point about allowing idols from smaller companies to write themselves because it's cheaper.
