Every candidate who earns 300 delegates must, procedurally, earn a nomination - even if the party already knows who will actually take the spot. The DNC specifically invited AOC to hand Bernie his procedurally required nomination obviously knowing the misinformation and media firestorm this would cause. They set her up for this. Honestly, it feels more like the DNC is acknowledging her as one of the faces of the progressive movements and they honoured it by giving her the opportunity to be the one to nominate Bernie. News website choosing to sensationalise this for clicks is the issue. Also for those who are calling AOC petty, would you have done the same if it was a man?
