lizzo's literally had one moderate "hit" and even that i've heard like 1/3's off. most of the gp doesn't even know her so idk why OP would even consider her as a MPG

Moderate hit?

"Truth Hurts" was #1 for 7 weeks, is certified 5x platinum and won 3 grammys. That's more than a moderate hit.

Her real "moderate" hit was "Good As Hell." It peaked at #3 and is certified 3x platinum. And it entered the top 10 before Ariana hopped on the remix.

The way Selena is constantly paid dust when her music is literally timeless!

Yes she whispers and can’t sing or whatever but her music does not age period. Revival still sounds fresh in this day and age and she has a lot of success and has remained relevant for a very long time - longer than Gaga.

EDIT: ready for the LMAO’s and “is that a joke!1!1!1!”

LMAO is that a joke!1!1!1!

Dua Lipa is the new main pop girl. If everything she’s done isn’t enough for you then y’all need help with your delusional standards.

Dua Lipa had her biggest chance with Future Nostalgia... but it didn't meet the standards. DSN and Physical were perfect singles... but the rest of the album really didn't live up to those singles.

Camila has been dominating since 2017... so I'd say she's a main pop girl

Dua Lipa was literally considered by every stan-base as a new main pop girl and everyone loved FN, some people even loved it more than Chromatica.

Camila? She had like 2 top 10 hits in 5 years and nobody is talking about her like they did with Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Cher, Gaga, Britney, Katy etc so i wouldn’t call her main pop girl.

But here’s my list:

Ariana Grande (debuted 2013), Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Ava Max and Doja Cat

BLACKPINK is slowly but surely earning that title. Remember, they're a lot bigger in Asia and Australia than in the US.

But honestly, I'm really loving this recent era of female rappers dominating. :legend:

Well. Selena has her hits.

Would not call her EDM hits timeless though.

There has been no one with the same musical or cultural impact as Madonna, Britney, Gaga, Taylor, or Katy.
Billie, Camila, Dua, - no.
They do not have exciting "business woman" presences, compared to the former mentioned. You need to display a strong business woman sense.

I don’t think the level of stardom that Madonna, Britney and Gaga had is even achievable anymore. Back then celebrities were bigger than life. They were so unreachable and people would actually try hard only to see them somewhere. Now all you have to do is open instagram and you’ll get to see what they’re doing every day and the illusion of them being bigger than life is gone. Fan experience from back then is gone.

True, since we can so easily connect with them, the illusion is gone.
The unknown is so appealing and marketable. But now we know everything, thanks to social media.

Kinda :poot:

I don't really care for any new artists. And by new I mean "debuting after 2010-ish" :poot:

So do stanbases on ATRL and other forums, + Twitter, determine who is a main pop girl? :billie:

Future Nostalgia wasn't loved by everyone. Was it liked by a lot of people in those stan bases? Probably yes. But, Future Nostalgia is a disco influenced album. Of course gays are gonna like it. Many people I've seen talk about it on here have said that the album was underwhelming compared to the singles, and that I do agree with. For me, and a lot of people, the album did not live up to the hype that she had with DSN and Physical.

If anyone releases a basic disco influenced album, its gonna get eaten up by gays. But all the songs were very one note, and boring. If Hallucinate, Don't Start Now, and Physical are the only stand out tracks... then that tells you something about that album.

People can have their tastes, but objectively, Chromatica is a more structured, better concept, album. It also had more overall impact, and did better on the charts than Future Nostalgia. To compare Dua to Gaga is delusional. There was someone on here that said FN was her TFM :billie:

There's also nothing new or exciting from  Dua Lipa. Someone who is mainly popular with the gays doesn't mean they are a main pop girl. Dua will need to do something totally unexpected, and bring something to the table, as well as have more of an audience than just the gays who were deprived of disco music, to be a main pop girl.

As for Camila, I can't see why she wouldn't be considered a main pop girl given that everyone loves her.

I love Ariana Grande, but she debuted 7 years ago. She isn't new, but a current main pop girl. Just like Gaga.

Billie is alternative, and has been doing the same tired thing over and over and over again. Bad Guy was a hit, yes. But what has she done since? She is serving the same green and black hair, baggy clothes, and the whole "I'm an emo kid", that she's been giving for almost two years. I don't consider the music she makes as pop music at all, and I can't see why she'd be considered a new main pop girl.

Ava Max... really? :billie:  Ava Max isn't known outside some European markets and is giving recycled 2008/9 pop songs. She isn't even popular to be considered a main pop girl, c'mon :smh:

Doja Cat is more rap. Say So was a hit and wasn't rap, but again, thats the only song that stuck with people. She isn't a main pop girl just off of one song.

There isn't anyone new who can be considered a main pop girl. But the current ones are:

Gaga, Taylor, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Camila, and Demi Lovato.

End Racism Now
