Bt1 5,213
I really dont understand threads like this one. 9 people got covid? Where is the news? There are 20,000,000 official cases around the globe. At this moment in time, u just have to pick a place and u will probably find covid there. I love that the non US residents are freaking out after 100 cases are reported while we here in the states are like “9k cases? Meh, I’m going to a restaurant and getting on with my life”. Very interesting

Mkay I’m gonna need you to think outside the box for one moment and look at the bigger picture here. While we all understand that globally, you could pick any place in the world and COVID will be there (maybe except New Zealand) but this thread is bringing to light yet again what we knew would happen. Politicians and a lot of the non-believers/anti-maskers/anti-shutdown people were demanding to send kids of all ages back to school. While these are teenagers in the article, kids in general that are younger are known to be super carriers. Think back to when you were a child in school and you always noticed those one or two kids that were always, constantly sick and brought their germs everywhere. Now replace basic germs with COVID-19 and you have what we all feared which was a massive influx of cases rooting back to schools reopening. All it takes is one person to spread it to two people who spread it to four, and eight and so forth and so on. Now these people are not only exposing everyone else in the schools, but they’re bringing it home and potentially exposing their parents and any other relatives living in the same household. They knew the risks, they still took it anyway because once again the inconvenience of a handful was more important in addressing than maintaining public safety for everyone as a whole. Children are super carriers? I thought this is not the case with covid? Do you have a source for this? I understand your point. Cant agree, based on the stats we have. The risks for children are really small. Basically, almost everything is riskier for them. And I doubt that the risks for family members are so much higher if children go to school or not. It's not like children or teenagers need to stay locked in their house if they dont go to school. They are free to see their friends and they will respect the rules probably less than they do at school.

These numbers are going to explode by the end of this month when every school opens. I still can't believe the government is using children as guinea pigs to test the virus in a normal atmosphere.
