Aga Gydal 3,158
No one is owed anything, in fact that sense of entitlement is exactly why Gaga fans in particular create such toxic environments online. If you want to feel entitled to anything, it’s the music. She gave you music. Getting prissy coz she’s not compromising her health to give you performances and interviews is like maximum petty. I don’t give a **** what her peers are doing, Gaga struggles with taking on fan expectations and has physical and mental pain to constantly work through. Show her grace and actually demonstrate that you care about her as a person.

She’s been doing lots of live performances ever since Daisies and also she already served some MVs and other 3 are coming. Plus she does insta lives once a week which are way kore insightful than Gaga radio tbh and she also communicates with her fans. She’s on a whole other level when it comes to promo. I'll check those out but you have to remember that every artist is different. What one chooses and wants to do is not automatically the best for another. I was also thinking: exactly what type of home performance would be conducive to the enjoyment of house music? Like, she's not a dj. Would we just be watching her dance? EDIT: Just watched (most of) Smile and Daisies -- no shade -- I'm good. Like I said: different artists, different visions. Katy did a lot and that's what she wanted to do. I'll wait for Gaga to put out her art the way, and at the standard, she wants to. That's her right. "She's an intellectual, your honor"

These people aren't really Gaga fans, she promotes love and kindness. You can't be true Little Monster unless you do the same, including to Gaga herself. bluemonkey 639
Going through all the comments, the same people that says she doesn’t need to do anything are most likely the same people that go “omg Gaga is a genius, her art is innovative and she pushes boundaries and continues to leave a legacy with all her many awards and political beliefs. She’s done so much for the world!” this is why Gaga is having mental issues, people are propelling her up into this unattainable status. And this topic proves it. Being on Gagadaily people talk about her work like they are in a high end museum thinking Gaga has some deep philosophical meaning behind “poker face” she writes pop music, she went to school for it and got started writing pop music for popstars, it wasn’t like she wanted to be a popstar from the beginning, her early music was very jazz and theatrical like a typical drama student would. I’m sure she never planned to be Lady Gaga her whole career. People forget her first ever appearance on tv was being an extra on some mtv reality show. She’s clearly tired of this Gaga act, people assuming she’s gonna do something Avante Garde or have this eloquent speech prepared because they think she’s the Bjork of Pop. Ever since she got her Oscar, people here have gotten more pretentious and it drives me nuts no wonder she wrote Replay, none of the fans are helping her because she feels the need to keep out doing herself and feeling pressured to always be this certain way. She’s a 90s kid like me who grew up listening to Britney and watching Salute Our Shorts (watch old videos of Fame era Gaga singing the theme song with a friend) but Im sure if she said that out loud people would be like “but I though she would be studying Andy Warhol and growing up watching Madonna” that’s why I knew she intentionally went with the house sound as a throwback. Listening to the album it brought back to the 90s and I felt comforted and hearing her words, I understand her a bit, she’s doing that for nostalgic reasons going back to simpler times and remembering how you once were before you became who you are now which is why it was unexpectedly personal. Lmao you're so condescending. Look at you knowing what's going on with Gaga's mental health and why. Why do you care how "pretentious" people here are, or not? Does it really matter? You're hyper-focused on the fans who are cutting her some slack and conveniently ignore those who call her lazy or are sure she screwed up somehow with this album. That's problematic, not some fans that you think are snobby because they speak in different terms than you're used to. If you're confused about her cultural relevance, then maybe think more about that before putting others down. She's been at this superstar status for quite a while now. I don't think praise and sending her love is hurting, and if you think so, then yikes. You can't seriously argue that fans praising her artistry is the cause for her feeling badly, and not mention the a*sholes who are straight up trashing everything she does, to the point where it seems like she can't win. I'm glad you enjoyed her album, but damn, maybe consider that others are just trying to do the same. You're basically arguing that being a fan and not having a critique of her is causing her harm. And that's just not based in reality. Some fans are more content than others. And she owes us nothing. i don't remember ARTPOP
