oh dear... dolls and toys go through so much levels of development and design, and not a single stage caught how inappropriate and creepy that was? a mess

and the sounds made are so bubbly and excited... this is concerning

The way this toy had to be designed by a team of multiple people and go through several stages of approval and not one single soul went like "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe we should just don't" baffles me

Now this is an example of where I think it's okay to feel weird, uncomfortable, and offended. The other thread about James Charles "making fun" of classical Indian music, I think, wasn't something that was really worthy of getting triggered about. This is different.

Obviously, the fact that the doll makes those noises is strange and definitely inappropriate, but you could maybe chalk it up to the designers wanting to make different sounds for the character. The two real problems I have with this is:

1.) You need to move the dolls legs into an open position and sit her on her back to even press the button. The button can't be accessed with her legs just straight down and even if you were to put the dolls legs in that "open" position and sat her down, you still wouldn't be able to access the button. The fact that you need to open the legs and then turn her on her back is unsettling.

2.) The button wasn't advertised. That just makes it even more shady.
