Haven’t heard it, but that video looks... interesting :huntyga:

I’ll forgive that because I’m sure it was made during quarantine lol.

Yeah it was shot after Covid-19 started oof. I really enjoyed it because it reminds me of the Dada Art movement a bit and some of Rolling Stones's videos. Also that type of strange but minimalistic approach is the director's style.

Not a fan.

The Pale Emperor was great, but this os taking it to un-Manson-like, ya know?

Would have loved a comeback like No Reflection.

not true, cos it certainly very Manson, very Mechanical Animal reminiscent, albeit a bit stripped down.

I think it would be the same way even if it wasn't because of the quarantine, it's just the art style

It kinda reminds me of Henry Eats -short film

I'm probably wrong

I LOVE this magazine cover photo, always have. Iconic. It's cool that they got together to work with one another again.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Yeah it seems like it. The song itself was good tho, although definitely a grower. I’m into the vibe he’s going for this album so I’m intrigued for the rest of it for sure :haroon:

He's an abuser and the story was swept under the rug. He needs to be in prison.

I was thinking the same thing too. I'd only recently heard more damning accusations about him and it really made me wonder. I'd always enjoyed his music but knowing this has put a stain on it and I don't know if I even feel right listening to his stuff now.

People stated similar things about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard as well, so again I'm not going to immediately label someone as an abuser when even the accuser hasn't named them. Given how serious these allegations are, immediately announcing that he factually did these things can be a very reckless thing to do. Not only do you run the risk of destroying someone's reputation and name with an allegation that may not be true, but it may also put pressure on the person to name their abuser which she's already repeated she doesn't want to do because she doesn't feel safe enough to do it right now.

It's important to keep all of these things into perspective going forward. Obviously you're allowed to form your own opinion with what little we currently have on the matter, but stating that we know he did anything for a fact can be dangerous because we simply do not at this point in time.

He also mildly abused Jenna Jameson when he was hooking up with her back in the day - biting the inside of her arm as a kink, leaving her insane messages on her answer machine ("where he threatened to set me on fire or feed me to Corey Feldman) which she couldn't tell were jokes or serious. Let's not forget that he also cheated on his wife at the time to start an affair with a much younger girl who alleges that he was abusive. Powerful people can make threats against people who wish to expose them which is why perhaps certain abusers are getting away with stuff. It's more than clear from the guy's music that he's got some issues and has stated as much (just listen to this new song). I still like his old stuff but when you separate the art from the artist, it isn't always pretty.

Loved the song, very hyped for the album now! I'm a big fan of the weird and unusual so the video, while not everybody's taste here, I'm totally for it and enjoyed it.

Not gonna discuss the abuse stuff without further proof, I recall Dita Von Teese said some things in the past as well but I'm ignorant about most of that so, yeah, I can't really say much. If it's true... that's too bad but I'll wait.

As far as I recall, Dita has always spoken highly of him, I think they’re still friends. And Rose McGowan also spoke highly of him in her book, and we know how outspoken she is about abuse.

At the end of the day, we don’t even know who Evan is talking about and anyone who follows his career and knows about the situation from more than just tabloid articles or headlines, knows that the timeline is quite unclear and it could either be Manson or this other guy Evan dated. And also it’s confusing bc she made an interview after they broke up in which she only said good things about him, so idk. I guess none of us can jump to conclusions bc we really don’t know a thing. And it seems like based on his image and persona people are quick to assume things. So all in all, the whole thing is very vague and blurry to really know.

Totally off-topic but...

Every time I hear or see Marilyn Manson's name I think of the fact that Gaga hooked up with him years ago. And it grosses me out that she did that :toofunny:

Pretty sure that did NOT happen :laughga:

Although I've heard he did hit on her and she rejected him, but that probably didn't happen either :billie:

Judas Oyster

Was interested but it's a letdown.

The concept of the video is good (not new but good) but the editing is so bad. Any new media student could make this.

Also the lyrics and pop vibe doesn't fit him. His voice is good as always anyway.

Weird.

Wow that is quite the change. I always thought he'd do this type of music one day, just didn't think it'd come so soon. I can't believe the song has such a happy vibe to it. Can really feel the Bowie influence here.
