Do you expect Ava Max to breakthrough?

Not unless she gets an identity that is more deep and relatable than an off-kiltered haircut. Her style, her sound, and her lyrics truly have no identity. Anyone could be singing her singles.

She desperately needs to be more personal, broaden her musical sound rather than pidgeon-holing herself in the early 2010s, and develop a style unique to her.

She's pretty popular in Europe with Sweet but Psycho, So Am I, Salt, Kings&Queens, Torn. If she's not doing well in the USA it doesn't mean she's flop.

Is it me or her whole aesthetics feel a bit dated? Her whole image and sounds look like something you could have seen back in 2009.

She's like the Lidle of pop girls, she doesn't have the stardom material, but her songs are the hits of the day but not of tomorrow. like ok it's a hit but who will remember it in the future?

I really hope so! I really enjoy her music.

I don’t get why everyone is so harsh in her here. Like she’s releasing fun and simple pop bops. It’s not like she’s claiming to make some super thought provoking music or anything. They’re just all really fun songs. It’s her first album, most pop artists music is thoughtless for their debut. Gaga’s first album is literally all about sex and dancing lol. People are way too harsh on this girl it’s like she hurt you all personally

SBP is a number one in 22 countries and top 10 in US.

She needed a top 5 at least in order to do something... Gaga had a number one, Katy did, Kesha did, Dua has gotten really close...

Eh, who knows.

I don't connect with her music nor her image. Props to her for trying though.

That's totally fair, but her image and sound are still lacking. Further, while Gaga's music was about sex and dancing, she had a fully realized vision around The Fame, the songs were lyrically strong for pop, her sound was different from what was dominating radios when the album dropped, and her image fit the album. There's a reason she stood out. Ava is really lacking some of those critical details Gaga had perfectly executed.
