What would be the best 3rd official single? The most likely choices seem to be either Sour Candy, Free Woman, Alice, or Babylon. What do you think? Would another song be a better 3rd single, such as Fun Tonight, Enigma, or Replay? What about that Chromatica II/911 transition? Can't leave her out! What about Elton John's robotic vocals on Sine From Above?? Certainly a contender too!

Comment your song below!

I think if we’re talking about radio then Free Woman is the pick. However, the success of singles these days heavily relies on streaming. In that case, Sour Candy seems to be the right pick.

For some reason I don’t think she would promote another collab song as a single so I would like to see Alice, Free woman or Replay as third single.... if there will ever even be one :huntyga:

I think FW is the most radio friendly (solo) track of them all

It sounds like a dated Kygo song - I can't see it smashing more than Alice tbh

Emerald

Sour Candy and maybe Babylon are the only good songs on that list.

I was on team Sour Candy up until about a week ago when I suddenly imagined the radio callout scores. :wtf:  So now it’s between Free Woman and Alice.  I’m going with Free Woman because I think it probably has a better chance, but deep down I’d be most happy with Alice because it’s my favorite track on the album. :awesome:

I don't think there should be a third single, I don't think any song will do too hot, and I honestly don't totally see the point. If the point of a single is to promote the album, I don't see a song that'll do that any better than Rain On Me. If there's gonna be any promo effort put into a song right now, it should be behind giving ROM the longevity it needs to be a genuine, bona fide hit (which it is right now, but getting back in the Top 10 for a few weeks would give it much more gravitas).

That being said, if they're gonna do a third single no matter what, I think it should be 911 or Replay. I can see 911 doing well with Billie Eilish-type pop fans, and the flow of its verses make it sound super current. It overall just sounds far more 2020 than any other song on the album.

Releasing Replay around September with a Halloween music video would be the strongest contender for a third single though and make sense. Could totally market it as a spooky season song, the lower register she sings in for its verses is super appealing and kinda sounds like Dua Lipa actually, and I think that might actually be the album's best shot at another Top 10. Even 911 I don't see doing particularly well on the charts rn.

Free Woman would be an absolute disaster, it sounds like a 2011 throwback that the GP is not here for anymore. (But it would've been a PHENOMENAL single choice at the start of the 2010s)

Alice is a bop, but again, it sounds far more like a song for fans than the general public. I can't imagine any of my friends (early 20s) listening to this.

Sour Candy could be good, but only because of Blackpink, and I honestly think that ship has sailed at this point. Releasing back-to-back collabs is also not a great look.

Babylon might actually SLAY as a single rn. It sounds fresh, it's catchy af, and it's so camp that it works... but the Vogue comparisons are inevitable and I don't think she should go down that road again. Could backfire big time.

so that leaves 911 and Replay, and if the pandemic had never happened and Rain On Me was the monster hit it might have been with a proper promo campaign, then 911 would be a great bet. but given where we are, I think she should drop the Halloweeny Replay vid in September and call it a day.
