This is incredible (and extremely well deserved)... but almost inevitable, too. 

I mean, a SURPRISE release from Taylor Swift was always going to have huge impact. 

It feels like a huge moment in her career -  a complete re-set.

This will cement her legacy for decades to come, since it's so timeless and removed from current 'trends'. 

Also, can we take a moment to appreciate that in the age of TikTok and over sexualisation, an alternative album about complex themes and emotions is one of the most successful records in the streaming era? 

That's the appeal of folklore... it's just such a huge breath of fresh air. It's not brash or attention grabbing or trend chasing or statement making... it's just good music.
