This will be Taylor’s least commercially successful album yet

Cardigan isn’t selling so good because fans aren’t buying it separately and she will shy away so far from the 1M debut trademark of her.

How do you feel about this. I’m actually sad how she’s one of the few pop girls(it’s really just her and adele lmao) who sells bombastically.

It really doesn’t matter. That’s why it’s a surprise release with likely not more singles or much heavy promo / commercial push. She doesn’t need that.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Adele goes the same route. They gross $ through album sales and tours anyway.

She's still going to end up selling more than most, regardless if it was a big drop from her usual.

It does seem like commercially she's slowing down just a bit, but I'd imagine she still has some more to go.

Honestly, i think the fact that she even surprised herself by making and dropping this album, it doesn't really matter. Hopefully it's more about the art of putting something out there during such trying times than it is about the sales.

I'm sure she knows this project won't be as sucessful as the others and it's fine. It's not a record full of catchy songs and massive promotional schedule. She went this way sonically because she wanted to do something different. In her 8th album, It's great that she has this control over her art without worrying about hit singles and astronomical sales anymore.

the scars on my mind are on replay.

What do you mean?

No one wants 8 versions of the same album with a different photo that you can just google?

I’d also add that it could be a calculated move ala C2C/Joanne. She’s intentionally pushing her “slow-down” by putting non commercial music, thus so when she returns to pop, it will outperform expectationsp

I mean, it’s her eighth album, an alternative/indie record with absolutely no radio-written hits, she’s almost been in the game for fifteen.mp3 years, it’s a surprise release from someone whose career has benefited from extensive roll outs etc.
Idt she cares tbh.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

This is her strategy so that when it inevitably flops, this can be her excuse

Why. Does. It. Matter.

She's selling better than literally MOST other people ever will.

Why can't we just enjoy things?

All the songs sound the same, they don’t go anywhere, and they are as flat as a CD.

This is not indie 😂. This is her apology to her country fans for making the last two albums. This album should have been called “regret”.
