Bellatrix 34,811
July 23rd. It's the horrible date that makes my thoughts go directly to Amy Winehouse. A sweet soul with an amazing unique voice and a great talent for songwriting. Today it is 9 years since she left us. Gone way too soon. "What if" are two words that often show up in my mind when I think about Amy. What if the world left her alone when she so obviously needed it? What if she managed to overcome her issues? Where would she have been today? What would she have accomplished? I have no doubts that her already great talents would have evolved into something even more fantastic. She was one of a kind. So, to honor Amy today here are some great performances worth watching over and over again. I have to post this too, her reaction when she won a Grammy and her big idol Tony Bennett said her name Wherever you are now Amy I hope you are at peace. We miss you and love you always Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

I actually remember waking up that morning and the first thing I did was open GagaDaily on my computer, there was a new thread about her death and I thought it was a joke til I read it. RudraCNG 15,125
The voice of a generation. Too bad she was (and sadly still is) sorrounded by vultures. Rest in Peace dear Amy

QueenOfSaigon 624
I‘ll never forget how Adele was a shy singer (so adorable!), while Amy stole all the spotlight at the Brit Awards 2008:

anonanon 932
I'll add these two of my favorites Frank and Black to Black are such amazing albums. I'd also recommend the Amy documentary to anyone who is unfamiliar with her music. Edited just now by anonanon

A sudden family member died the same day any did, A very close person to me. I think it’s special she passed the day Aimee did. It always creeps around, I walked to Amy’s one night to place flowers at 2 am with a friend deadly quiet, anyway a tiny bird flew up to us and sang... it was quite surreal. I believe it was her just like the butterfly in her funeral; she was all about reincarnation
