Her last release which was the gift sold only 900 copies in the UK .

Before that was everthing is love which sold 120k (first week) in the US and it was a Beyonce and Jay collab album.

How about in the US and Globally?

Everything is love has sold about 800k world wide since 2018 last time I checked  in January.

I doubt the gift even sold up to 500k worldwide yet

Well Beyoncé has just been in the game longer so her strategy has shifted over time but gradually. Gaga changes directions pretty often so it necessitates promoting the image as much as the music. For Bey, look at Lemonade. That album is a culmination of all the themes she'd been exploring since DC. They just developed more over the 20ish years she's been around so audiences don't need to be acclimated as much. Gaga shifts so much and that shift needs to be articulated in marketing materials and such.

I think a lot of this fan base is still stuck in 2009 and hasn’t realized Gaga doesn’t need to prove herself anymore. Even the artists people here compare her to are way below her, she’s more comparable to Beyoncé than Dua. She’s just at a different stage of her career now and people don’t want to accept that

You act like she has 20 years under her belt. Beyoncé can do that because she has been in the biz for so long, Gaga hasn’t been there yet. She’s a legend in the making but she ain’t there yet.

Honestly Beyoncé is not just a pop star anymore. She have too much power and is slowly achieving god like status. All her effort goes into the 1st impression of her eras and from there, the ripple effect do the rest.

Are u serious ? 🤣 God has nothing to do with beeing a popstar LOL

I said godlike, not like actual god. For some ancient civilizations even the sun was a god. A symbol of something superior, not the literal religious definition.

Everyone else on here acts like she’s still desperate for fame and compares her to every flavor-of-the-week pop girl. Gaga’s been in the business for 12 years, has how many awards, how many top 10s, made how much of an impact on the music industry, on fashion, etc. Sure Beyoncé’s been around longer, but let’s not act like Gaga is on the same level as someone like Dua. Chromatica did just fine with minimal promo, because she doesn’t need it anymore

reality’s tight if the music is right

People say Beyoncé has a low IQ, and that's why her team doesn't let her do interviews.

But she is...the GP don’t really much about her anymore, she fell off. You think winning one Oscar would automatically bump her up to legend status? Again, this topic is about why Beyoncé can pull off zero promo and get away with while Lady Gaga does the same and gets hate. Sounds elitist to me.

Also you know how many popstars break records and win awards? Every year it’s always broken so it doesn’t mean anything. Legends are legends because they have been in the biz for a long time. So again, comparing years and only years, Beyoncé 20 and Gaga 12. Imagine some new pop tart coming out and expecting to be at Gaga’s level already. Jimi Hendricks didn’t win any award in his lifetime but he is a legend. Get your definitions right because if you are judging just base on stats and awards then a lot of artists should be legends.

That’s exactly the reason but that’s not to say she’s not talented, some people just can’t express themselves intelligently but they do it through other ways and it shows in her work.

Gaga just needs to step up her ability to create multiple projects at once. She already works so hard so I’d rather her not. But Beyoncé literally has a full on visual album everytime she releases.

Gaga is know for her visuals: Look, performances, and videos. For someone like her to not have a visual album or slowly release videos is strange to me. Why not have videos already filmed before the release So she can release them as she pleases or just all at once? The answer is sells. Beyoncé’s work doesn’t sell the best because she doesn’t ever focus on singles. She focuses on the album. Gaga’s label probably still wants her to crush sells( which is understandable).

Is this actually the reason? She's not very articulate in speaking?

Does racism cause hearing loss? Because we have decades of interviews and she has always come off as charismatic, thoughtful and sincere.

What does this have to do with racism?

1.bey has a bigger fanbase

2.bey is more generally loved and has been around longer

3.bey does little promo, but in the right places

4.bey’s focus since self-titled has been creating albums with iconic status and longevity, rather than quick success. lemonade will still be remembered and talked about in 20 years. chromatica? i dont think
