Gaga changes directions pretty often so it necessitates promoting the image as much as the music. For Bey, look at Lemonade. That album is a culmination of all the themes she'd been exploring since DC. They just developed more over the 20ish years she's been around so audiences don't need to be acclimated as much. You think winning one Oscar would automatically bump her up to legend status? But Beyoncé literally has a full on visual album everytime she releases. Gaga is know for her visuals: Look, performances, and videos. For someone like her to not have a visual album or slowly release videos is strange to me. Why not have videos already filmed before the release So she can release them as she pleases or just all at once? The answer is sells. Beyoncé’s work doesn’t sell the best because she doesn’t ever focus on singles. She focuses on the album. Gaga’s label probably still wants her to crush sells( which is understandable).
