Technically we meet every requirement to be considered common law partners in Canada, except we haven't lived together for 12 consecutive months. But despite being together for 2 years, it's not possible live together for 12 months unless you have a visa So it's a catch 22. Right now he has a planned trip to visit me in November so we will see. But I've already began accepting I won't get to see him for the next 1-2 years.
