But you don't have to read those novels. Some people like my deep dives and agree with my criticism. You can jut ignore the stuff you don't like. I've never been one for ignoring people I dislike. I want to wax lyrical about what I dislike as much as the stuff I like. You'll never get an accurate view of how much your stuff is liked if you don't hear the dislike too. Plus, ranting is a good way to get out frustration.

I don't hate her these days. But the competition goes way back before 2013, right back to 2008, when they debuted in the same year. They were always pitted against each other, Katy made her fart joke about Gaga and said other shady things about her over the years and Katy fans laughed at Gaga when she was couldn't get a run of #1's. There was always tension but Roar vs Applause tipped it over the edge.

I'm certainly not a recent bandwagoner. I've been following Katy since she debuted and I've been on this site since 2010. Most of us who have followed their competition have been here since the beginning. And we're not intimidated by her anymore, it's a mixture of mocking and feeling sad for her now.

Her last Top 10 Hit was in 2017, not 2014 btw

And NRO which was a cute hit could very well be considered a KP5 single since it's going to be part of the album so I'm sure her label is fine with pushing it even if Daisies barely scrapped the Top 40

Her career is not hanging on a thread, she's very fine thank you for the concern. Her flops are just more noticeable because of how many singles (most of them with no decent push) she released. 

The member I originally quoted was claiming it and has been claiming it for some time. I've generally always seen delusion from Katy's fans ever since Prism. They were convinced it would have as many #1's as Teenage Dream, then they thought every single off Witness would smash and her tour would sell out even though it just performed worse and worse and not one date was sold out. Now they're still holding out hope that she's going to have a successful roll-out with Smile. It's like they've never stopped living the Teenage Dream glory days even though they've not had anything to validate their high hopes for quite some time.

And I didn't say her last top ten was in 2014, I said she's had one top ten in the last 6 years, which means one top ten between 2014-2020, which is 6 years.

I'm actually glad to hear that NRO and HiH are going to be on the album as those were 2 of her recent material I liked and if NWW makes it on too, I know there's a least a handful of songs I like.

Well, considering she used to have hits with no problem and her last few singles couldn't even chart in America, her biggest market and her lead single only peaked at #40, it really doesn't look good. For a popstar, especially as big a name as she is, should not be struggling like this.

So I think, on the contrary, Columbia VERY much cares about Katy as an investment - they believe that she, as an act, does not need a hit song or album to generate revenue in the long run. They believe in her brand. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they are actually FORCING her to release when she doesn't want to. They won't get the money from the merch or tours or endorsements if it's not out there. And the longer KP5 exists, the better investment it is for all involved.

And - to your point about artists having (or perhaps rather, having what were perceived as) two flop eras in a row and never coming back from it - look no further than Madonna, who has gone through that twice (Erotica-Bedtime Stories, Hard Candy-MDNA) and is still laughing her way to the bank, due a strong brand that thrives off of having a large catalogue.

Where is the evidence that she's going to generate revenue in the long run? Her last album has sold less than 900k worldwide and her last few singles barely charted or couldn't chart at all. Madonna's albums sold a lot by today's standards, they were just flops by 90's standards. But even so, of course someone like Madonna would be the one exception. But exceptions are rare.

I really don’t like the font, and can’t really see how this fits with the visuals or theme for Daises. So glad Chromatica’s visuals have been a bit more cohesive

okay so hear me out, since @xoxo Craig pointed out the "told them your dreams and they all started laughing" lyric I imagined what could original daisies video would be

In some movies, we all see clowns as people who had dreams but they couldnt achieve them so they became clowns on a random circus. I think the original video plan was her playing a clown who keeps on dreaming about the things she couldnt achieve, yet other people kept laughing at her

I may be reaching but she always has a connection to her leads and the album concept.

She did say she had a huge video planned for  Daisies... maybe she'll shoot it later in the year? Doubt it, but it would be good to see the orginal concept
