Cyndi Lauper didn’t wanna be Madonna. Cyndi was doing her own thing. In fact she exploded in popularity before Madonna did.  That said, Madonna had the most “Madonna Wannabes”.

Lmao, Xtina is the opposite of a Britney wannabe. She doesn’t wanna be a Britney 2.0. Het label tried to make her into one at the beginning of her career. She wanted to play “the label game” for a few years to please the label since she was so new, but she was always trying to standout. Mainly with her voice. 2 years later she released Stripped (something she always wanted to do) and completely set herself free from the Britney/Jessica Simpson type of blond pop star image.

They're both alternative artists. That's where the similarities end. If you think Lorde's debut album (Pure Heroine) is her attempting to copy Lana's aesthetic and sound, then you need to clean them ears out.
