I'm currently doing an MA in a research assistant position in my country. I am happy both with the faculty and the position since the pay is good, but I think I HAVE to go somewhere else or I'll stagnate. Since I'll probably be studying comparative literature for my PhD, I also think England could be a good idea tbh. I'm still not even close to being done with my thesis, so I have time to decide I guess

You're a lit major as well? We love to see it. I'm currently doing my MA as well (it's a sh*t program but the uni is good so :selena:). I'm not even considering going to the US because I'd genuinely rather stay in Lebanon than go there. Europe is the only place I'm considering, but I still have a full year of courses and a semester for my thesis so I'm stuck here until 2022 (not to mention  that my country is falling apart and we can't even afford leaving now haha kill me).

Soft, soothing, and succulent

Mine is slowly turning into hell, too, that's why I see PhD as a way of leaving at least for a while :selena:

Fullbright can be an amazing opportunity, though it's for masters.

Great. As students don't have enough problems.

These measures were disputed and have been largely pulled back. I do agree, though, the attack on education persists...
