he should have left that stage name in the trash before his big 'resurgence' a year or two ago. he's said and done awful things. yes, he's apologized multiple times but 'sorry' doesn't do much after the 5th time. he continues to associate with other awful people (and victimize/sympathize with them).

It's kinda funny, this type of humor is what made Shane Dawson filthy rich back in the early 2010's. People LOVED it and teens thought it was hilarious. Now everyone is offended by it... like where have ya'll been?

I sort of agree with this, but we also have to understand that some people NOW may feel very uncomfortable with him having this huge platform having done and said all that sh*t 10 years ago, regardless of society's growth. The things he's done geniunely touches a LOT of people's sensibilities NOWADAYS, regardless of his apologies and "growth", as we are all now more instructed in these issues that are no longer normalized, and people that have suffered from them have more chances of speaking up.

Now, if we take this and spam him with hateful comments like kys or extra sh*t like that, that's a whole 'nother story.

I understand that, but it only happens with people on the internet because of how easy it is to find these things here. Many people wrote the exact same things in books in the past, but since no one cares to read books, they aren't considered "active offenders", even though their offensive content is still out there.

I also think there are way more people saying "there's people that get offended by this" than there are people actually getting offended by it. There's this crazy habit nowadays of assuming people will get offended by it, even though we're not offended by it ourselves. An example just last week was Meghan Fox, where everyone on Twitter was outraged about a "misogynous pedophilic" joke that was made about her, and she had to come forward to say it was not offensive at all, and people should worry about real problems.

All people care about is headlines and drama, and Shane sure has lots of content in his past to feed these people.

Are you comparing actual physical violence to a comedy sketch where there was no one physically present except Shane himself?
