Kattys 4,319
I've been listening to Chromatica on spotify, using my headphones since it came out. But recently I bought it on CD in my country and started to listen to it in my car. My car has pretty good sound system with advanced bass options. When "Alice" started to play by head was crushed by this strong, fast bass playing in the background that overwhelmed all of the amazing sounds in the production (it was very prominent in like 90% of the song), it's not very pleasant to listen to it unless I change my default settings. But on headphones - Alice is a dream. On the other hand, "Free Woman" on headphones felt flat for me, but it absolutely BANGS in car sound system. Same with 1000 Doves, playing it in my car added so much flavour to this song. Have any of you noticed other differences like this?

alsemanche 93,637
I listened to a few songs in the car and I can safely say that it sounds so much better on headphones. I tend to enjoy headphone music more because it's more detailed. But it's still worth blasting in the car. Soft, soothing, and succulent
Bradley 59,023
Stupid Love sounds better with loud speakers than with headphones because of the complexity of the instrumental. But I find Future Nostalgia to be pretty bad in earphones because the bass is so heavy, it blasts too loudly in your ears.
BlondeQueenOfGGD 25,454
I find the “take me” in Alice extremely grating to the ears with headphones
Killa 17,461
This is a bit of problem with most speakers today that are too bass focused. Not all records work that way, tho many contemporany hits will hit harder like so. My speaker at home is very good for hip hop, most edm, not all pop, and its more noticeable in more acoustic music. Heck if i play a symphony it utterly destroys the music

youandi 2,110
Really good both ways. I think decent quality headphones is always the best for proper listening and quality in terms of hearing everything you're meant to hear. Then, however, the joy of driving with the music blasting, especially if the weather suits the music, can be a really great listening experience so I think both offer great but different ways to listen.
