I mean there's a bullying issue that he admitted to in the past and said he spoke with the person he used to bully and talked things over.

This particular incident is questionable. Did he actually do this as well, or is some hater making up BS to hurt him with? The moment you are popular in Kpop, you forever have a target on you.

why would he say that. he always get accused of so much scheisse. from the beginning of his career, K-Netitz (I think I spelled that right) have made hard damaging rumours about him. It's disgusting.

totally agree. people are creating false rumours and incorrect accusations and using them against him. it isn't new. the fact that there's been so many accusations against him that have been proven wrong, the claim isn't really trustworthy

Just stop. I was obviously talking about LGBTQ celebs worldwide, not just Korea. My point is, what he said about not being successful just because one is gay is simply not true.

He wrote entire thing in Korean with a context of being Korean. However, westerners try to put him under their global perspective. And it’s unfair cause we never get the same privilege like y’all. When I joke with my friend “bê đê mà làm thầy giáo thì phải giấu”, i meant it in my country’s context. Being publicly gay in an Asia, especially conservative countries, is in fact the biggest obstacle to be successful.

Please ignore the spelling in username. I am a Beyonce stan afterall.

just like the huge epidemic of western stans covering up and excusing allegations of racism against numerous celebrities? or is it just kpop stans that can do this?

Hong Suk Chun is a relatively popular celebrity I think though he isn't a K-Pop idol. Ironically enough, he is also related to Taeyong shshshsj

https://www.allkpop.com/article/2018/04/hong-suk-chun-finally-meets-his-distant-relative-ncts-taeyong-for-the-first-time

Hong Suk Chun went through such a tough time. I'm glad things are better for him now.

saying 'x is gay' is a common thing that teenagers do around the world. as a kid, i've heard plenty of people saying 'that's gay' in reference to something without actually referencing homosexuality. it doesn't make it homophobic, it's just a careless use of a sensitive word, just like the thousands of people across the world. he's apologised for it. plenty of people don't.

is it wrong? yes. was there homophobic intentions behind it? probably not.

but he did not apologized about being "homophobic."

also no "everyone does it" cant be an excuse.

Ik but the fact that these K-Netitz are making fake allegations against him is disgusting, plus because of COVID,  LGBTQA+ people are becoming targets in South Korea

But anyways if you're openly gay you won't be successful, I mean there are a lot of LGBT artists in Korea but you won't see them in a group like BTS, Stray Kids, Monsta X, Mamamoo, Blackpink... there is still a lot of homophobia in this country. I can't imagine how many idols are gay, bisexual or lesbian living in the "closet"

For the record, Taeyong definitely wasn't an angel. He definitely has had issues in the past. But a lot of the stuff he done has been blown way out of proportion lmao.

1. The Scamming incident: was no scamming at all. He had a verbal back and forth between a dude he sold a toy to who wasn't satisfied with what he received so Taeyong promised to replace the item but the other person posted online saying he got scammed so Taeyong went off on him. He did not sent bricks to multiple people unlike what some people like to claim.

2. The bullying incident: He called a person fat on an online forum when he was a kid. He met with them in person and apologized. All the allegations of the victim attempting suicide or the violence claims have been proven untrue by his school, classmates and teachers.

3. The homophobic comment: while it's definitely insensitive, it was aimed at a friend of his and I don't think it's too serious imo. I have said worse and I'm gay.

"everyone does it" was not my point. my point was that a lot of people use that in a way that isn't homophobic, ie. use the word 'gay' in a way that isn't referring to gay people but is instead used as a colloquial term, so it's possible that that's what was meant.
