She's from Wisconsin (perhaps the most important swing state this election), she's a solid progressive who supports Medicare For All, and is a generally well liked person with probably little to no baggage. She was all but picked a few weeks ago. It's fairly obvious that Biden's handlers felt like the optics would be bad with her on the ticket given everything that's happening right now, so they promised her another cushy job in exchange for her making this public withdrawal. OT: There are no genuinely good potential VP candidates. Tammy Baldwin would've been the most progressive pick, but that's clearly not going to happen if this is the angle the campaign is going with.
