I understand you problems with Chromatica - I believe gaga has been, for a long time, transitioning into a more theatrical voice which she was criticized for in the early years of her career. It's not for everyone and clearly less pop. Future Nostalgia has arguably better production but conceptually and lyrically Chromatica knocks it out of the park for me.

Omg thank you for pretty much summing up my thoughts. It’s true, I guess because she has more control now she’s become a lot more theatrical with her voice. I’m happy for Gaga and the freedom she has but as a pop music fan it’s just hard to listen to sometimes. Dare I say sometimes it’s just unpleasant to listen to. I do agree conceptually and lyrically Chromatica is a lot more daring and ambitious.

I just don’t like the delivery of Gaga’s vocals in her new music.

The vocals on Enigma alone ATE FN in its entirety.

I listened to it today for the first time in full and I like it but I think Chromatica is a lot better, it feels fresher and is more experimental.

I love Physical, Cool & Hallucinate tho :lolly:

Miss Dula Pipa did a great job :bon:

Here we go again with fake liddos who complain about "shouty" and "theatrical" Gaga vocals

That’s the worst song for me. Very shouty, loud and annoying. Lyrically it’s a dud as well.

Sorry I have to say this. The smooth production throughout the album and Dua’s stunning vocals make for the better listen.

Dua has the perfect voice for pop listening while Gaga’s voice is very shouty and too theatrical at times on Chromatica. If I’m being honest I can’t replay Chromatica everyday the same way I can with Dua’s album. Gaga’s booming vocals are just too much sometimes. Like her vocal style in the chorus of Sour Candy is just unpleasant to listen to (someone should’ve told her it sounds like a frog stuck in her throat).

Gaga’s vocals during TF/TFM were perfect pop vocals and compete with Dua’s vocals now. Conceptually and creativity wise Chromatica is definitely more ambitious, but as a solid body of work Dua’s album is the better pop record. I think it definitely has to do with the vocal delivery.

Absolutely NOT. Dua's album is forgettable and has 4 stand out tracks out of 11. Its repetitive and boring... unlike Chromatica which is a solid, cohesive, concept album and every song is amazing

Dua wishes she could have an album like Gaga's

I care for very little of Dua Lipas music (New Rules is the only single I kinda liked).

Not very motivating to make me listen to the rest of tracks

Gaga’s voice can sometimes sound ugly or dull (like Sour Candy’s chorus) or Free Woman’s verses.

You’re CLEARLY not a Gaga fan if you think that lmao. Threads like these belong on ATRL.

I will say the one everyone loves, Hallucinate, does nothing for me

Actually, I don't care for Dua's tone (reminds me of Marina & Katy's).

I feel like people who dunk on her vocal delivery want Gaga to have very little personality in her vocals.

It's like going to a Kate Bush forum & complaining about her voice.
