Is it ethical? probably not. It is illegal? definitely not. Should charts be "ethical"? meh. Focusing on the promo tactics and not what we think of the artists themselves, they are not the only ones that pulled all the stunts they could to make sure the song went #1. Off the top of my head I can remember that Justin Bieber did it with Yummy and Taylor Swift did it with Me (Multiple versions of the song, a ridiculous amount of physical edition released), even though both of them were blocked at #2. Justin and Ariana did it again with Stuck with You. We all follow charts and we all know that virtually the most common way to get a #1 single this year is to pull some fraudery on its first week, and they did it shamelessly. To do "questionable" things shamelessly is very on brand for six nine, so idk how you were expecting otherwise. He didn't get the #1 with his previous song, and it was clear he was going to do everything that was in his hands to get it with this one (which is not a crime I guess, even tho it's not cute either).
