I like Sour Candy, but as a “duet” it’s disappointing compared to ROM/SFA

Yeah, exactly! It’s definitely more of a feature, like Telephone.

Telephone was even a better "feature" since Beyoncé actually sang in the last chorus. I agree, it could have been called Sour Candy featuring BLACKPINK

see I don’t get this, Beyoncé can be heard all throughout Telephone after her verse. She even does background vocals on the last chorus or two. Unless it’s because she does background vocals that she’s a feature and it’s not a duet? But then why is Hey Girl a feature when they literally go back and forth throughout the entire song? That seems like more of a duet than Rain On Me

this is giving me Madame X flashbacks. Medellín, Crave, and Future all say “with Maluma/Swae Lee/Quavo” in Medellín, they do go back and forth singing. But the other two it’s just background adlibs & vocals before and after their verses... exactly like B!tch I’m Loca and Faz Gostoso which are credited as features :oprah:

Gaga's part feels a bit higher too, like idk the volume? idk I don't understand that much in recording and mastering but it just feels like they raised the volume for her lol

But the point of SC is that she's part of the band and they are all in this together, so each one of them has a part, this is why it feels more like a BP song than a Gaga song..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I really wish Gaga would be featured on their album this time like that Videophone / Telephone mix, I'm very curious to see how she'd fit in something like Kill This Love or Boombayah, which is what I expected Sour Candy to sound like but it's ok, I still like it.

I thought the song was good?

My only issue 'til this time is Plastic Doll.

I love the song, as it's super catchy, and I relate to the lyrics, but yes, it's not really a "duet."  Of course, it also has more than two people, so can't really be a duet anyway. I'd like to see her do a live performance with Blackpink, which I bet would be much better.

i like they have same long singing time, BP got 1 mins and gaga got 1 mins. but i feel like they rushing the production, i mean it has so many potential like adding rap verse from bp or else. its good but can be better i guess. and gaga + blackpink consider a pop icon nowadays. i just hope they rework this song + mv later, since it will be boom musically, artistry & commercially

Didn't BP has kinda "strict" management? I felt like this is only what they are allowed to offer to Gaga and save the best for their official comeback.

It's a good song, but it kinda ruined the flow from the smooth beat of 911.

i'm really disappointed too. she always brag about how she never collaborate with someone just by asking them to lend their vocals but she literally did just that with this song.
