And you really don’t know if it was with her own money like Where did you take that from? Everything she does has a budget and the musicvideo is under Interscope so By the Way you are legit saying we knew it was a failure. Why was it a failure? Because people like you think it didn’t sell good. If not, why was it a failure? It ”underperfomed”, which I personally don’t think it did comparing to all the other albums that were released that year but it was the media that came after her for e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g she did. It was too rebelious like she said in a recent interview Maybe failure isn’t that exact word but girl you everybody knows how the era was all over the place and she was trying to get back on track. That’s why she went on multiple radio stations for promo. She funded that video

Also, she didn't mean to finish the era with G.U.Y. as one week before its release, she said that she would shoot a video for Gypsy. You sound angry, almost aggressive. The OP was very nice and said lovely things about Gaga and her work. There's no need to be that hard

But she didn’t want too push the era by doing that or had hope it would be successful, she did it for the fans. The gypsy video thing was way before GUY and before AP started too get messier. Well, she explicitly said that she wanted to shoot a video for Gypsy in her SXSW interview, one week before G.U.Y. was released Btw, I have nothing against you, I just thought you sounded a bit nervous or something

Gypsy, Do what U want (sans the feature), Aura, Sexxx Dreams, the album went hard and the only thing that stopped the perception of it being good was the fact that her management left her stranded and she couldn't fight back to regain relevance while people were calling her a flop without any basis, while she was under attack from skid marks like Perez Hilton. The album was a conceptual album, it went hard. The only misstep as far as many are concerned was jewels and drugs. I didn't like applause much, but the music was far from subpar. Perhaps you just didn't understand it. The issues were all managerial issues and personal. That's why ARTPOP is having something of a resurgence in popularity online with people who are just discovering it. They're outside of the bubble of "flop" and outside of the bubble of "Angela Cheng". Outside of the bubble of "wow her last album was discounted from a retailer" or "Marry the night wasn't very high charting" "she's over" "She's a flop" "She had to cancel her tour" "She broke her hip" "She's not as good as madonna" "She copies everything". She was MASSIVELY addicted to numerous substances (watch her on Andy Cohen!) and heading for a crash - and on top of that, her management dumped her. Imagine trying to launch and album and have a successful campaign when it's started out by MTV restricting your big comeback on the VMA to make way for Miley to twerk all over the place and leave you to rot - then to follow up a lead that served longevity with a single that was very ill advised and suddenly get dumped by your manager who moved on to another cash cow. Suddenly you're left on your own with barely any team behind you and you're trying to roll out an entire album campaign - Venus got switched with DWUW, the RKelly allegations came up again, Terry Richardson allegations came up again - She was headed for a GREAT era with ARTPOP, but the way the cookie crumbled meant that she had her knees shot out from under her. It had NOTHING I repeat NOTHING to do with the music. Maybe it went a bit too hard - but you know what? That's the only disappointing thing about Chromatica - the songs don't go hard enough when they go hard. If Sine went as hard as Swine we'd have gold, but we don't. Evidence of this is seen in ARTPOP's popularity with late arrivals (watch some reaction channels, read some recent reviews... or LISTEN TO IT) and also reviews of Gaga's performances early on in the era. ARTPOP remains unbothered as her best album. End of.

ilocorB 548
ARTPOP is still my favourite Gaga album! I won’t ever forget the 2 ArtRave i went to, especially the one that was an outside festival show. I also loved the interviews/speech in that era. She really spoke with her heart.
