I think Katy was very much involved in her #1s and the strategy behind getting them #1, unlike Gaga who was is more focused on the art and performance aesthetic - I feel Gaga is more like GP. She sees her songs getting high peaks and that's good enough for her. 

So yes it is a shame that she's obviously annoyed by the low views compared to her other lead singles l, but she should stand by her work

PI is a great video and probably not low budget either  

Katy worked with what was available in the circumstances at least it's something, though I can see why she said this if she had bigger plans it must be disappointing for her

I don't see it as her turning on her art either. The lockdown ruined a lot of things, we got lucky with ROM, but had it not been filmed y'all best believe those weather channel videos would have been made feature length and we'd kiss goodbye any chances at a no.1

I know, i was jk  it fits the aesthetic of the song but compared to her previous efforts, it was a pretty simple vid for a lead single (by Gaga standards).

This situation kinda reminds me when her original TEOG plans were also scrapped but at least ms Gaga stood by what she finally released, ‘cause that’s what she had at the time.

Unfortunate as it really is, Katy should really focus on her pregnancy instead of saying these things about her releases.

I hope this song turns out to be a success for Katy because she's promoting the hell out of it. I've heard more from her over this song than I've heard from Gaga over an entire album.

They did what they could with what they had, and honestly it turned out nice. There's nothing wrong with the video. It's a nice snapshot of her pregnancy that she can keep forever. But it must suck to have big plans for something more and then to have to scrap it all.

I get it why they did this instead though. It could've been months until they could go out and film, and then time on top of that to edit. She couldn't wait 3 months after her song release to drop the video. Also, she looks heavily pregnant, and I doubt she wants to be filming music videos on location after giving birth.

Except in that case, Gaga was the one who specifically wanted the change lmao so I think she wasn't even remotely disappointed in it. Heck, it *still* gets used in montages in the media so clearly it did something well. For everything it is, TEOG is a simple premise, but beautifully shot and also indicative of the era its sound pulls from. I'm actually super happy we got the video we got and not some overblown production because I think the song itself is so big and melodic and joyous that all you need to communicate it visually is Gaga's passion for it. The shots of her climbing out of the apartment window are incred.

Now Yoü and I. That song needs the bigger video production it got so I'm glad ideas got re-used there.

It wasn't a bad video; why turn on it like that? Maybe it wasn't the video a lead single should have. But c'mon.

If there was anything about the song that needed to be fixed, it was that horrendous last "Daisies" note she kept screaming in the studio version and did better live.

I was agreeing with everything until that last line lol

 

i really like her coarsely belting that last “Daisies” note in the chorus. It sounds powerful, raw, and like she’s screaming it in a do-or-die situation which makes it super genuine
